The Sopwith Camel and the Supermarine Spitfire are icons of their respective eras, both efficient designs that were very effective. The Sopwith Camel was first flown in 1916 and the Supermarine Spitfire made its maiden flight March 6, 1936. Hope it's of interest! SirMike1983 3 Posted September 23, 2010 This one is a classic as youtube videos go. You can see the effects of the rotary engine as the plane "dances" about in level flight in a circular fashion.
