Su-33 front landing gear issue

Recommended Posts

Guys, I am trying to make the front landing gear of the Su-33 steerable in SF2:E, updated to latest patch.

I am facing a strange issue, the gear does not turn properly:

Anyone has a clue how to fix this?

I really don't know....but are you going to give this bird the 1st and 2nd KIAP colurs????that's great!!!!

if the node wasn't cut for the steering animation, that might be it. You can 'fake it' by adding the statements to the nose gear, but it probably won't move.

that screenie in the gallery isn't very clear; can you give us a closer view (use the F12 free camera), and post the original and modded nose gear sections from the data ini?

My quota is full, so till I find out how to clear it, I can only post images in the Gallery. Hope these are better:

:rofl: the pics look funny! like a broken nose strut! Rotation axis, like Brain said, is definatly "off"

but, "Line15"? for a node name??? I'd check the OUT file, that just don't seem quite right!

Thanks, but still does not work the way it should.

RotationAxis controls just the wheel node, whereas I need to control both wheel and shock node at the same time to reflect the proper movement. I am affraid Wrench could be right that the node is not cut properly.

Yes, "Line15" is absurd, I have noticed this and found the correct entry - FrontPiston.

Now, if I left "CastoringNodeName=" without entry, there is no movement at all, wheels just rotate in a straight line.

If I write "CastoringNodeName=FrontPiston", then I get the strange steering rotation.

Gee, I don't an issue with that...oh wait.....I know why..... :grin:

look into the lod with a hex editor, you won't find it. Just fake it, with entries withOUT the node name. The meshes weren't cut. You just won't have a swiveling wheel. As long as you can steer, who cares!

same as it is for every other aircraft in these games...

SystemType=LANDING_GEAR

--snippage for brevity--

InputName=YAW_CONTROL

ControlRate=0.70

HasBrakes=FALSE

BrakingCoefficient=0.99

RollingCoefficient=0.05

MaxDeploySpeed=128.61

MaxLoadFactor=6.0

CompressGearOnRetraction=TRUE

RotationAxis=Z-AXIS

what controls Yaw?

this < and this > (if you don't have rudder pedals)

look in your /Options/Controls/Customize, and you'll see!!!

see above ... if it's not MADE steerable in the data ini, it won't steer.

I don't have those versions, I'm waiting for Marcellos.

Thank you all, I guess I will wait till the modder who uploaded the aircraft sees this thread and hopefully fixes the lod, not that it is a big issue at all. :drinks:
