Single Mission add on aircraft availability years

Recommended Posts

Why is it that add on aircraft I added to SF2 Europe are not available in single mission for any year other than their start year when choosing Israel or Vietnam as the theater for the mission?

For example the F-14B(96) is only available in 1996, the F-14B is only available in 1988, the FA-18 is only available in 1988, etc, when choosign them for a mission in the Vietnam or Israel theaters of war.

How can I make them available for other years in Vietnam or Israel?

Thanks.

Hello mosherec,

in your modfolder, open the "Options.ini" file.

Find the "[singleMission]" bloc and change the StartYear and EndYear parameters to, for example:

StartYear=1950
EndYear=2050

Save and have fun.

Hello mosherec,

Thanks for the advice. I had already tried that and it did not work.

The problem exists only for the add on F-14B, F-14B(96) and the F/A-18C. All other aircraft diplay all of their available years in single mission. But these three aircraft will only show their start year as an available mission year in single mission mode when using the Vietnam or Irael theaters of war. In SF2 Europe they work fine.

I thought it might be a users.ini issue but adding this to their .ini file and adding the users.ini to each aircrafts folder did not fix it either. However I could have done it incorrectly.

Not sure what else to try.

Check the specific terrain ini then "ISRAELME.ini" and so on. If that stuff is there then do what FrankD suggested. Or just delete it altogether it's just set by the game that's all and won't affect anything.

Becasue the IsraelME and VietnamSEA terrain are YEAR limited. They aren't designed for use past cetain dates' that TK want to 'focus' on

To fix this:

You'll need to edit the terrains MAIN ini (after extraction from each of the terrain cats)

As seen below, for the IsraelME.ini:

[Terrain]

TerrainFullName=Israel, Middle East

DataFile=IsraelME_data.ini

TargetFile=IsraelME_targets.ini

TargetTypeFile=IsraelME_types.ini

MovementFile=IsraelME_movement.ini

NationsFile=IsraelME_nations.ini

LocationMap=IsraelME_Location.bmp

WaterMap=IsraelME_Water.bmp

BriefingText=IsraelME_briefing.ini

DogfightFile=IsraelME_dogfight.ini

DogfightOnly=FALSE

Longitude=34.80

Latitude=32.08

LimitedNations=TRUE

GroundObjectTexture=tan

[Map]

FilenameFormat=IsraelME_Map%d.bmp

Width=1000000.0

Height=1000000.0

NumZoomLevels=3

[WeatherChance]

ScatteredChance=25

BrokenChance=25

OvercastChance=4

InclementChance=2

[AllowedDates]

StartDate=1948

EndDate=1983 <---these statements are the issue

you'll need to do the same for V-SEA, since the date TK used in the end of the war.

NOTE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

Move the inis INTO the /Terrains/*nameofterrainfolder* BEFORE editing!!

To answer the next question, you'll have to create a new /IsraelME and /VietnamSEA terrain sub-folders in your games /Terrains, since they don't exist in the stock form
