- Cyprus redesign. (this one, eta 2 weeks

Tips:

Did a little spin over Aksaz Naval Base and found the helipad but unfortunately there is an issue (see attached vid). I think it's a game engine limitation :this:

Thinking about something...

What about adding Greece "1st Attack Helicopter Battalion" and "2nd Attack Helicopter Battalion" near "Stefanovikio" (coord 242911.000,726941.000) ?

Would be great to be able to fly Dels coming AH-64A on this map

Definitely Kreelin. I'll see what I can find. Any pictures of the bases handy?

The Apache is coming and there's the ALOUETTE III (needs a skin btw), There's also Chinook out there and Cobras too. (Old Diego and Kreelin are working on a beatiful new version for this..)

So yeah, I should add some Helo bases for both sides..

BTW, check out Megara (2nd Attack Helo Squadron base I think) Got that in there already!

West of Elefsis, on the coast.

Unfortunately for us, Old Diego canceled the Cobra project at the moment...

In fact, we mainly need attack / combat choppers for the gameplay. TK's series game engine doesn't use TRANSPORT type of mission.

So we have:

A109A

Alouette 3

Gazelle

Mi-8 (we can mod it to do a Mi-17)

The coming AH-64A

Any takers for weathering the textures? How about the Helo ramp paints..

I just found something that may require fixing.....

This is an awesome terrain. :yikes:

Is there any cheaper software other than 3DS Max 9 that we can use for modding?

if you mean the shimmering on the Olympic stadium, it's a Z-buffer issue in the lod itself (and/or possible flipped faces on the meshes). Only TK can fix it.

Even placing it on a completly flat region don't help

Umut is Gaziemir actually operational with fighters^? I remember seeing only Helicopters there. And of course I will ask you if Etimesgut, Esemboga , Akinci Kayseri and Nevsehir are going to be in the map. Also you probably have many pictures. if you need some air pictures of turkey, I have something

I think it's the plain simple fact that in SF2 you can't designate an airfield "Helicopters Only" and the lack of helicopters as well.

you also can't designate them a 'civilian only', either. An airfied is an airfield; for use by anyone that can pay the landing and tie-down fees!!

For civilian only, maybe you can play around with the nations.

add a nation "civil" and then assign that nation to an airport (if it works

assigning a nation to an airport)....

It's "FRIENDLY", "ENEMY" and "NEUTRAL" which may be the key for that but then again you won't have any flights, just that airport not available.

Hey bud,

You're correct, Gaziemir does not have any fighter squadrons, it's really a base for the Air Training HQ, in which also the 203. SAR wing is flying CN-235 out of...

Just took some artistic license there and placed a few fighters in too.. That airfield is probably one of the best populated ones on my map.. Lot's of hours went into that design. So whenever you get there take a walk with external cam. :)

I also got Etimesgut, Akinci and Kayseri from your list.. Left out Ankara Esenboga since it's mainly a commercial airport..

For gaming purposes, it's too bad we can't declare an airfield just for helicopters.. Would've been pretty easy to implement, but of course SF isn't for helos or commercial planes in the first place..

Though, I do use the NEUTRAL tag for a few things.. Like the English Akrotiri base on Cyprus, and many of the commercial shipping traffic on the Aegean.. The targets here don't fire back nor any enemy aircraft takes of from the airfields..

Of course we can't have helo only helicopter. It was just a question about Gaziemir which I often see in RL, like Etimesgut (home base!) and akinci and kayseri. And what about Milas Bodrum?

I´m currently working on some F-104G skins.

I have planned:

Greece: Silver & Sea Camo

Turkey: Silver, SEA, Norm 72 (ex Luftwaffe), Norm 76 (ex Marine) & Norm 83 (ex Luftwaffe).

And i would like to do a Turkish T-38A skin too
