HD german europe terrain where the summer files at

Recommended Posts

Hey Gang,

Sorry for the questions lately just setting up SF2 again for some flight time. I have installed Starys HD europe tiles and it by default gave me what looks like the winter terrain. How do I go about putting the summer files in there. I have 3 folders fall spring and winter but no summer. Any help would be great!

Heres a pic of my flight once I installed the Europe terrain tiles

This terrain has been configured to fly in several seasons and, at least in mine, they are picked up randomly, try making some other missoins to see of it changes...

regards.

do you the 4 seasonal folders? (fall, hard winter, spring, winter)

did you use all the supplied inis? There's 'seasonal switchs' in the GermanyCE.ini

[season001]

Directory=hard winter

StartDate=1/1

EndDate=02/27

ScatteredChance=0

BrokenChance=40

OvercastChance=50

InclementChance=10

[season002]

Directory=winter

StartDate=02/28

EndDate=03/15

ScatteredChance=25

BrokenChance=40

OvercastChance=17

InclementChance=8

[season003]

Directory=Spring

StartDate=03/16

EndDate=05/21

ScatteredChance=40

BrokenChance=25

OvercastChance=17

InclementChance=8

[season004]

Directory=fall

StartDate=09/21

EndDate=11/09

ScatteredChance=25

BrokenChance=40

OvercastChance=17

InclementChance=8

[season005]

Directory=winter

StartDate=11/10

EndDate=12/05

ScatteredChance=25

BrokenChance=40

OvercastChance=17

InclementChance=8

[season006]

Directory=hard winter

StartDate=12/06

EndDate=12/31

ScatteredChance=0

BrokenChance=40

OvercastChance=50

InclementChance=10

what Flogger and Wrench said... you must put the modified GermanyCE.ini (and GermanyCE_data.ini but based on your screenshot seems to me you did so) in your mods/Terrains/GermanyCE folder, seasons are being picked up depending on mission date

In other words, it changes with the seasons, like in real life :good:

Unless your saying you want Summer only. :dntknw:

Ok thanks guys Ill try a few more missions, just curious though how does it figure out the season. where I live its summer now. All of the files are installed correctly as well. I wish we had a button in game to change seasons like in FSX.

actually, it is broken. I was testing the Tunnan conversion just now, and the only dates I kept getting was Feburary. 15+ missions, and nothing but winter.

I'll be gone this weekend (back sunday night) so I can't test my theory ... I think someting like the FE/FE2 Vogessin might need to be done. (or is the Latitude= too far north? 80 degs?? Shouldn't it be like 50-something?)

That is, move ALL the tiles to a seperate sub-folder in the /Terrains folder, and change the seasonal pointer to 'look in that direction'

I'll experiment when I get back.

IT'S A BUG

tested myself, random date is broken -I had allways April missions in my case, days randomize, month not -the only solution I can think of is to click the mission editor icon and change the date manually

from my testing the start month is being picked up randomly and stays that way, testef many rimes by selecting mission, abord select, read date, abort etc -days randomize, month stays the same (and year of course)

That is not my experience. I started up mine and ran 3 different single missions getting a totally different month each mission.

But that's my Korea install not europe

I'm having no issues with seasons changing...it seems to do so now progressively by date, so each mission is flown 3-9 days after the previous one. In otherwords, It takes 10-15 consecutive missions in order for one to see a change of season, from beginning to end.

I'm refering to single missions generator
