DLC aircrafts available

Recommended Posts

Man wonderful to see this.

I'm tip~toeing away to SF-1 again (but at least 2008 not 2006 so easy there) ... so I can't use this stuff, but I'm glad to see TK trying this out.

Question:: What limits on airplane types do ya'll think TK will have? I mean, I'd love to see TK sell a J-35 "Flygvapnet" or B-58 "Strategic Air Command" even if none of the stock games employ them. They are, after all, nifty airplanes as TK likes to say; two of the most Nifty ever.

given the similar quality loss associated with both jpg and dds formats, it's a reasonable fomat. Anyway I think it was used before for some stock models, wasn't it?

not exactly

you can save them as jpg, but in game they are "uncompressed" as full bitmap by game engine

It's in fact strange to now use JPG as tests had been done earlier on, and it decreased FPS slightly, maybe game engine has been modified there

Repackage Stary's terrains and sell it and give him some commission.

People really have to thank Stary for his quality terrain work. :good:

:yikes:

frankly, I'd prefer him spending some time on fixing century-old bugs

OR

adding layered fog we had in the sims back in the 90s

Maybe with the DX10 accelerations available the JPG thing is no longer a hindrance. PC's are getting faster but SF2 isn't getting more complex at the same rate.

I've been procrastinating big time, hadn't installed the May or June patches yet. I guess I will do that this long weekend and check out the DLC. The Hunter I'm iffy on, but the A-4 looks good.

I got the Skyhawk and it's a nice ride. Granted I haven't flown it much, shot a few down but I have no issues with it on my rig.

Both DLCs are nice, although there was a mistake made in the tail colours of the PNG KLu Hunter.

Red and blue are the wrong way around, because there's a lot of wrong drawings

of those colours TK had the wrong info to work with. He should have taken a peek at my SF1 skin!

TK is already informed, I hope he'll fix it soon!

jpg makes the download size smaller with minimal distortion. actually, after you add bump mapping and spec mapping, you can't really tell there is that much pixelization (i hope that is a word). just make sure you don't keep resaving the jpeg as it will lose quality after multiple saves and compression.

texelization?

I think saving 100% quality jpegs prevent quality loss..? Haven't worked much with the format in the past though, now saving my tiles final work in jpeg

(where's Jules when you need him?)

It can save more memory, if tk will do the skins in DDS format...

BTW I will sure support that too with my money....

...if there will be planes from my interest.

Dutch Hunter and A-4G are (sadly)not in my interest....

I wonder why he did not add Swedish Skins to the Dutch Hunter. Its almost the same aircraft as Designation J34...

Swedish Hunter is the F4 without dogtooth in the wings leading edge....(whine, whine ... )

Only the airshow demo Hunter is an ex Swiss F6

Houdoe,

Yup!

Most Dutch were late F.4s with dogtooth wings (the 1xx numerals) and the F.6s

which had the 2xx numbers. Indeed the Swedes had the old style straight edge winged Hunters.
