I am quite impressed by what you and sophocles have been doing...hard to believe any of my model parts were ever in those screenshots!

I was going to ask, once you have completed this project, I know some folks (including myself) have been dying for proper T-38A / AT-38B cockpits.  If you have the inclination and/or time, I'm sure folks would appreciate it.

And, thanks for putting those MAX files to good use.

FC

Without your work FC this project would never have come into existence...

Guys does anyone of you have good detailed pictures of the 275gal and 150gal drop tanks of the F-5E?

Also, do you want a 100% perfect product at release or would you be happy with something that is 98% there but released sooner? Because I feel sad to keep this to myself, it is already quite usable even if there are a couple of small details that needs fixing.

This is a game, not a hundred million dollar simulator, I say bring it at 98% and I will happy as it is!

I am of the same opinion actually.. and the thing is, those last 2% can take a very long time to achieve.. Just look at the Mirage F.1 project, it took almost two years to get it to current level, and then we started of with a working exterior model! I don't want to keep this for that long to myself.. I just wish to finish a couple more details before release..

I worked some one the F-5E today again, got a lot of stuff done that was left hanging, including:

-Better centerline pylon

-Exhaust detailing

-Texture tweaks and fixes

-Better wingtip rails

-Baked AO for misc stuff like gearbays and the like

-New afterburner effect (a bit colorful atm)

Before first release candidate,

I need to:

-Tweak the 150gal drop tank and add the shorter CL pylon used with it

-Make new bump maps

-Maybe do the canopy opening mechanism, but it wont be easy to do tho..

Been doing all kind of fun stuff today, including

-Fixing UV map seams

-Fixing model seams

-Tweaking other sloppy work I did before

But I also got a bunch of fun stuff done

-Gear bay detail

-Bump maps

-Smoother out the camo texture for more crispness

-Fixed the underside where the nose joins the fuselage, should be reasonably realistic now

-Underside detailing

Inspired by Sophocles bird I also tried reducing panel line opacity in the textures to see if that would be more realistic and I personally like it better. I still want to make it even more "real" but don't know what to do. But you can check out the new screenies vs. the ones from yesterday and tell me what you think

To-do

150 gallon drop tanks

More detailed hook

 Hi Centurion

It's really looking nice.

Panel lines are hardly visible when looking at pictures of U.S. Agressor F-5's.

So I think you made a good choice.

Can't wait to fly your beautiful aircraft.

Really beautiful and accurate F-5E!!!

With the new Mirage F1s, your Tiger II is ideally made for SF2... THE "Lampasoudiste" paradise!

Best regards,
