Just sandboxing, trying to envision the best places and proportions for markings. Full points to mue for the LOD Viewer. The Buccaneer stuff would have been possible without it - it would just have been twice as hard, and taken more four times as long.

McDonnel seem to like British A\C  look at what they did to the Harrier...

McDonnell Douglas \ Blackburn  "Manatee"...

" The term buccaneer derives from the Caribbean Arawak word buccan, a wooden frame on which Tainos and Caribs slowly roasted or smoked meat, commonly manatee. "

McDonnell A-8 Barbecue

Perfect fit, matches the etymology of Buccaneer and the alliteration of the B:

"Blackburn: Advanced Naval Aircraft... aka Black Banana"

I've decided - McDonnell A2H/A-6 Bakunawa.

McDonnell is there for the British connection. That leads to a mythical name. The Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon from Filipino mythology believed  to cause eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. Good alliteration with Buccaneer, and appropriate given the Buccaneer's nuclear role.

It's getting close. I am greatly indebted to HomeFries, and everyone else who worked on the A-6 Superpack, without which this US Buccaneer would not have been possible.

EricJ's recent uploads of fabulous skins for the Hornets motivated me to try something myself. Far from being finished still...
