I need Canadian CH-124 for ODS30 helicopters pack to keep all these helos in Jarek's high standart. CH-124 is very similar to HAS.5, so you can expect this version as one of 1st .

I'll also publish templates, so ... skin is your problem .

Hello, gentlemen, I have one question regarding the Chieftain Mk.5 dos it has a machine gun along the main gun axis? or in the main gun turret?

Hi, from wikipedia:

Armament:
  • 120 mm L11A5 rifled tank gun
    • Rate of fire: 10 rounds per minute for the first minute and 6 thereafter.
    • Elevation: -10 to +20 degree
    • Laser rangefinder
  • Coaxial L8A1 7.62 mm machine gun
  • Cupola-mounted L37A1 7.62mm machine gun

Mark 1 and Mark 2 models had a coaxial Browning .50-inch (12.7 mm) ranging machine guns prior to the introduction of the laser rangefinder.

I believe what you have circled in the picture is the ranging machine gun, mentioned above, which is apparently fixed to move together with the main gun barrel.

thats what the coaxial is. never heard of a ranging MG

in the pic, to me it looks like it got taken out for wsome reason, maintenence or cleaning. but i dont know british armor that well vs the M60s and M1s

some tanks used a machine gun calibrated to match the trajectory of the main gun to get their gun on target before using the main gun. I think the US Ontos used that method of targeting too.

cool info, under the learn something new category :drinks:

again, fraid its not helpful to GKABS, but the generation of armor i've been around (and at least one preceding) had higher speed fire control computers instead of using that method. i have never heard any armor troops talking about it and i went to basic at Knox in 96 when it was still the home of Armor

except for the Ontos I don't think it was used on American vehicles and it wasn't  widely used elsewhere either. I think rangefinders and targeting system advances rapidly made it obsolete.

Yeah American tanks never used a ranging machine gun to my knowledge as technology was quite  advancing pretty rapidly. Matter of fact the M1 Abrams revolutionized tank warfare by being able to shoot on the  move, or was the first tank to do so.

Hi everyone!

I'm Mariano, the creator of the Argentinian J-10. I'm currently working on the biggest update so far. Version 1.2 will include:

- Missiles (PL-9 and PL-12)
- New loadout.ini. (The 4xIRM and 4xAHM proved to be more efficient for fighter sweep than the existing 2xIRM and 6xAHM)
- Tanks name change.
- Fixed avionics.
- New racks (I slightly modified the one it has)

MAYBE
- New data.ini changing the specs of the engine, new radar and modified RCS to emulate the J-10CE.
- PL-13 missiles.
- Freefall, retarded and guided bombs.
- New sounds.

Here's a screenshot of how the new loadout will look like...

Have a good flight!

@Geary you are still the man when it came to metal skins and doing teh panel lines and rivets on the old Starlifters

trying to match you on it, dont know how you had the patience to do it (even with the cheat templates i made to work with rivets)

still placing rivets.....
