New Project: Hunter GA.Mk.11 help needet

Recommended Posts

Hello my modder friends,

I just started a new project.

After we now have nearly 100 differnt Hunters, I thought one more doesn´t count.

But it should be something special. :grin:

So I started to do the Hawker Hunter GA.Mk.11 (Royal Navy) ini edits are mostly done.

I just need a little help.

Can someone tell me, how the marked area is named in the model?

I would like to delete this 2 parts (right + left) from the model.

And maybe someone can help me to add an arresting hook via fake pilot method?

Sort of like the 'Marilyns' of Delta Dagger, the bulges on the rear fuselage :grin:

neither do i .. there's nothing on his list that points to 'bulges', 'blisters', or 'boobs! Wonder if they actually might be completly part of the fuselage mesh, and not editable out...

nuts .. might have to ask TK or DanW about that one.

those bulges are bays to catch the empty links, empty shells are dumped through the pair of small pipes at each side

EDIT: switched

Casing_Chutes_R <--- thats 99% the right-side double pipes

Chute_Housing

Chute_Ring

Chute_Ring_Under

the other 3 meshes are also related to it, but depending on the hierache might dont need to be removed all separately

also try Casing_Chutes_L for the left side pipes

the list above has some _Bay names, perhaps some of them are the name sof the 2 bulges

Since we cant extract any of the SF2 lods anymore, I usually ask TK for mesh names now if I want to mod something, done so ~ 2 weeks ago for some F-15 antenna names.

that's why I keep a set of lods/extracted cats from May2011 around -- even if they take up a decent amount of HD space...it's worth it sometimes!

Isn't the F6 lod a better fit, since it lacks the parachute housing? AFAIK the GA 11 didn't have the parachute housing, they were modified F4's (leading edge extension, hook, guns deleted). I have to say that is an awesome skin.

I will try it with the f6 model. But then i think the antennas are missing. Have to check it out.

Edit:

Thank you Otto I will try it!

I just checked out the Hunter9.lod with a different method, And found that the object name of the two "Sabrinias" combined is "Bump".

That name was overlooked when I was making the list above.

so it is simply "Bump".

I hope that removing them does not leave a gap in the fuselage.

Oh thank you gerwin! :good:

I hope not, if you look at the F.1 model,

these "Sabrinias" aren´t there. so i think tht will work!

BTW, i think i stay on the FGA.9 model.

deleting parts is much easier for me then adding some

and skins are optimized for that model! :grin:

Oh i was late ...

this is from old Hunter FGA.9 to F.1/F.2 mod :

....

Component[010]=NoBump

[NoBump]

ParentComponentName=Fuselage

ModelNodeName=Bump

DestroyedNodeName=Bump

DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE

HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE

...

BTW if You need nose glass effect I think I could help You with Hunter FR 10 'spares'.
