Tales from the RAF

Recommended Posts

We at RAF Binbrook and a 9 Squadron Canberra is detailed for a bombing sortie at The Donna Nook ranges, as they near the range the bomb doors are opened and unbeknown to the crew a 25lb smoke and flash pratice bomb detaches itself from the bomb rack and duly goes through the fanlight of the ladies toilet of the Prussian Queen public house in Donna Nook. Luckily it was 02.00 They head back to base and find a rude awakening about the stray bomb. Fl/Lt Ted Flavell the pilot, wrote a poem about it, its very funny, if you are interested, I can send it.
