The Docu-Drama is based on the book of the same name - which I can very highly recommend - written by Geoffrey Wellum, which follows him from just before joining the RAF - through training, then 92 Squadron during the Battle of Britain, then on to some early cross channel daylight bomber escorts and sweeps, then flying Spitfires off of HMS Furious during the Siege of Malta.

The Docu-Drama itself is only concerned with the Battle of Britain part of his life (it'd be nice if it was the whole book - but the Docu-Drama was made to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, so it's understandable), and I'd also recommend the DvD of that, as the YouTube uploads seem to be of not the greatest quality.

I also read that the book First Light is on the required reading list for all new RAF Officer cadets - what more excuse do you need?
