Found this interesting picture - in 80's they try with Hawk - here is Alamo

Anybody have more information? Is it works? Only tests? or... Photoshop...

Its easy to hang a missile on a rail. But this must not mean, that the Tomcat can fire this missile.

The Indian AF had tried integrating the R-27 to the Mirage 2000H and weren't successful.

 

May be its just for display and make people scratch theri heads how Iran was able to do it. How are they going to integrate the R-27's guidance to the Tomcat's radar?

Integrate Hawk with Tomcat's radar was difficult and the results wasn't satisfactory. Integrate Russian missile must be more difficult or even impossible. It looks that they have problem with missiles for Tomcat's. First with Phoenix, now with Sparrows ( but who knows when this picture was taken ) - only Sidewinders are available.
