Experiment with Iceland_Water.fx

Recommended Posts

Just experimenting....

IsraelME terrain with Iceland water FX.

post-30257-0-60624900-1332454853.jpg

Yep lots of problems...

Notes:

Had to use IcelandNA.CAT, so extracted and copied everything from an old IsraelME.CAT version.

Inserted the below lines to IsraelME_DATA.INI

[WaterTextureMaterial]

EffectShaderName=iceland_WaterEffect.fx

Specular=0.8

Glossiness=0.40

ReflectionStage=1

I think Julhelm mentioned something about adding it to stock water to me, but don't know the details how to.

It most likely wont work very well with the older (non-LOD) terrain sets. The NA water shader is based on a fixed sea-level, and therefore sees shore-transition tiles as being at (or below) sea-level, so it covers them :yikes:

Yes, the coast tiles are gone..

Perhaps TK will adopt it for his old terrains.. Without FX files we don't have much to play I guess, even with them not sure what can be done..

Ed, do you plan by chance some of yours shader magic as now it seems some additional Dx calls are utilised?

There's not much to experiment with as everything is locked and hidden...
