having some oddities with the front line on the persian gulf map...as seen in the screenie below

there's this 'extra line' that I didn't plot, that no matter how I re-plot the dividing front line, keeps showing up.

This is the statement in the movements ini:

[FrontLine]

FriendlyBase=Doha

EnemyBase=Bandar Abbas

Position[001]=101088,861538

Position[002]=419906,453846

Position[003]=688958,358461

Position[004]=752773,374262

Position[005]=931859,492200

StartShow=1

EndShow=5

some of my questions are:

does the location of the EnemyBase have any bearing on how the lines are drawn? If so, should the EB be placed more towards the center of the map? Do the new 'naval zones' (which are well within friendly waters) have anything to do with this? (meaning: they're well to the south of iranian waters, between Qatar and the UAE)

any and all help is appriciated!!

This has always been a bug-a-boo for me!! :lol:

Try to bring the first position and the last position closer to the edge of the map.

Perhaps

Position[001]=0.00,950000.00

......

Position[005]=999999.00,500000.00

or try following lines

[FrontLine]

FriendlyBase=Doha

EnemyBase=Bandar Abbas

Position[001]=0.000,768000.000

Position[002]=225000.000,661500.000

Position[003]=565500.000,387000.000

Position[004]=678500.000,405000.000

Position[005]=857500.000,457000.000

Position[006]=883500.000,444000.000

Position[007]=933750.000,356000.000

Position[008]=999999.000,328000.000

StartShow=1

EndShow=8

well, nuts! Using those positions, it's still doing it, but the 'extra line' is now located in empty desert, so I think that's livable!!

Hello

It is an interesting problem, is it possible to read some hints on frontline positioning, somewhere ?

Thats a strange thing. Perhaps you should post your question at Thirdwire forum.

Maybe that there is a interaction between the frontline and the naval zones. Could you post a screenshot of the naval zones?

Perhaps the frontline must go along the border of the naval action zones. Or you must make a big black line to devide the red and the blue naval action zone and the frontline must be middle of the black line ..... :dntknw:

(Bye the way, what's a high priest of CYA? The only priest i know is the M37 Priest which i often see at World of Tanks.)

Does the extra line disappear at higher zoom levels? [having a somewhat similar issue with a mod of the stock Desert terrain.]

the line is ther at all zoom levels, on the highest, it's just further down the map

interestering thought about the naval zones, and DEFINATELY something to experiment with. The terrain is finished; just waiting for the next patch that fixes the 'navalmap' issues with CAS/ArmedRecon/AuntieShip having no primary targets listed/shown during the mission. immage below is the 'as is' water bmp

'CYA' is a very old term, was much in vogue when I was a mechanic -- it measn 'cover your ass' :lol:

The Frontline is going exactly through the eastern yellow naval zone. Try to move the zone more north, perhaps between the big island and the coastline west of the island.

The other two yellow and the green zones are not crossed by the frontline.
