Is it possible to have the clouds cast shadows on the ground ?

And how do we control the altitude the clouds are placed in (auto) single missions ?

don't know about shadows, but they reflect on the water in NA

unfortunately, the cloud deck heights have been locked away for several patchs; so, no longer adjustable

Well, clouds are tga's (transparancies) so I don't think so but it would be cool.

as in every other sim that has clouds (and other particles like smoke) cast shadows, Il2, WOP, Falcon:Allied Force to name a few, TK could implement the shadows in two days but hasn't since 2006

Don't push your luck, the way things are going if TK adds cloud shadows, that will come at the price of having every single cloud hardcoded frozen at a fixed height and coordinates.

...so locked that probably not able to alter their (cartoonish) stock looks either anymore

... i have no words to express the frustration , when, often forgetting about the recent locks, and out of force of habit i am trying to locate lods in the cat extracts

i'd compromise if had the option to disable it. I have noticed they dont affect fps in Lockon family with my current rig (i7 880, ssd, 8gb 1600 ram. HD 5800)

It's because he uses those s**tty raytraced shadows and not shadow maps like everybody else does.

true, that would give him possibility to have all alpha-based objects cast shadows (effects and trees for example, but as he has no interest in those, we're back to IP)
