Trimming Aircraft in Wings of Prey

Does anyone know how it works? I keep pressing on the designated buttons in Simulator and other modes but there doesn't seem to be any response :(

I would also like to know how this works. I have never been able to get the trim tabs to work, either with keyboard or keyed to a logitech 940 stick/throttle controls.

maybe you need to tap them instead of holding them down, kinda like 1946's Manual Gear Up/Down. (which takes like 50 hits)

Trim tabs only exist in some planes (not all WWII planes had them), and of those that have them, some can only change tab position when the plane is parked (I think Messerschmitt Bf-109 is one of those). I hope this helped.
