- implemented numerous tweaks to launchers & radars to standardize data and improve performance

- overhauled weapons to standardize data (w/ 3rdWire weapons as baselines) & improve performance

- added RadarFamily data w/ associated TEWs entries and TGAs

Please review the following section for notes on what's included in this package and how to install the various components.

If anyone would care to list all the stock aircraft that have TEWS RWR's, I'll extract all the RWR.lst files and update them, and then post them to save on duplicating work.

good luck with that ... the RWR lists have disappeared from the extractable cats (see my 'Things that annoy me greatly thread).

best thing is to extract all the avaionics inis for those aircraft (usually with a 78 or later operating start year), and use add these to dtmdragon's generic list (which actually has most of them already)

unfortunately, I really didn't archive the pre-Jan 2012 rwr lists, but did find a few (very few!!)

below, is a stock 3W rwr list (iirc, from the F-15A -all others are exactly the same)

F-4=RWR_F-4.tga

F-8=RWR_F-8.tga

F-14=RWR_F-14.tga

F-15=RWR_F-15.tga

F-16=RWR_F-16.tga

F-18=RWR_F-18.tga

NASARR=RWR_F-104.tga

ScanOdd=RWR_MIG-17.tga

SpinScan=RWR_MIG-21.tga

JayBird=RWR_MIG-21.tga

HighLark=RWR_MIG-23.tga

FoxFire=RWR_MIG-25.tga

Cyrano=RWR_Mirage3.tga

BarLock=RWR_Search.tga

LongTrack=RWR_Search.tga

DogEar=RWR_Search.tga

AAA=RWR_AAA.tga

Hawk=RWR_Hawk.tga

M163=RWR_M163.tga

SA-2=RWR_SA-2.tga

SA-3=RWR_SA-3.tga

SA-6=RWR_SA-6.tga

SA-8=RWR_SA-8.tga

ZSU-23=RWR_ZSU-23.tga

build from there; but cross-check with dtmdragons!!!

Good point wrench. I forgot about them being locked away. I guess it's just a matter then of creatibg one generic .lst and renaming it for each stock aircraft that needs one.

What cat. file are the RWR list files in? And when did they dissapear? I've got a June2010 install that I've been looking through, and I don't see them. All the TGA.s are there, but no joy on the lists.

that's exactly what I just said.

using a generic, like Dan did, called "RWR.lst", and drop into each aircraft's main folder. Extratct all the needed avionics inis, and edit the ThreatLibrary= line, drop in each aricraft's main folder.

HAH! Got 'em! :drinks: You have to use an older version of the Cat extracter- the new version doesn't "see" the RWR lists. Here's the A-10A_78_RWR.LST.

F-4=RWR_F-4.tga

F-8=RWR_F-8.tga

F-14=RWR_F-14.tga

F-15=RWR_F-15.tga

F-16=RWR_F-16.tga

F-18=RWR_F-18.tga

NASARR=RWR_F-104.tga

ScanOdd=RWR_MIG-17.tga

SpinScan=RWR_MIG-21.tga

JayBird=RWR_MIG-21.tga

HighLark=RWR_MIG-23.tga

FoxFire=RWR_MIG-25.tga

Cyrano=RWR_Mirage3.tga

BarLock=RWR_Search.tga

LongTrack=RWR_Search.tga

DogEar=RWR_Search.tga

AAA=RWR_AAA.tga

Hawk=RWR_Hawk.tga

M163=RWR_M163.tga

SA-2=RWR_SA-2.tga

SA-3=RWR_SA-3.tga

SA-6=RWR_SA-6.tga

SA-8=RWR_SA-8.tga

ZSU-23=RWR_ZSU-23.tga

If you've got an old extracter, extract away! If not, let me know, I can do it later tonight, got some RL duties calling right now.

Wrench, the list may be identical, but what you didn't post is that the RWR lists are not "locked away" if you use an earlier version of the Cat extracter on a pre-NA version of the game. You can just scroll through the Cats and see which aircraft have one, which was malibu43's original question. Seriously. :biggrin:

ok, and exactly how many folks DON'T have full-5 merged, at the latest patch level???

THAT'S the point I was trying to make. Once you've added NA, you're f***ed. Hence, the reason some of us archived pre-Jan 2012 extracted cats; even if the don't have all the bells and whistles

Wrench, I'e got a 1) Full five [seven], merged, latest patch level, 2) Full five [seven], merged, April 2012 patch level, 3) NA stand alone, April 2012 patch level, and 4) Full four, merged, June 2010 patch level. My point is if you or malibu43 need a list of aircraft that have TEWS RWRs or the RWR lists themselves, I can give you either one.

I was actually suggesting something different. Instead of dropping the generic RWR.lst into each aircraft's folder and then editing extracted files to point to it, I was suggesting creating multiple copies of the generic RWR.lst and naming the copies to match the stock rwr lists for all the default aircraft and then dropping those into the appropriate folders. My way involves creating more copies of the RWR list (and naming them), but doesn't invlove extracting or editing any additional files. Just a different approach, not necessarily better.

SupGen - If you have the .lst files handy, send them my way and I can update them. You've got the hardest part done already...

The idea behind having the all rwr.list files with the same name is when you need to add a new radar to the list you can copy and past the edited list into the main aircraft file of every aircraft with a rwr.list file. Yes you have to have extracted and edited a handful of stock avionics files to point to it. However I think you will find you will be updating the rwr.list fairly regularly so to edit every single diffrently named rwr.list file in your mods folder will be a lot of work to do on a regular basis, given how many add on aircraft most people have. For that reason I think we will be doing ourselves a big favour by standardising all our add on aircraft to use the generic "rwr.lst" file so we can update them easily on a regular basis when a new aircraft or ground object with a radar is uploaded. There is only a hand full of stock aircraft with a rwr.list so extracting their avionics files and changing the one line only takes 5 minutes. You just have to keep an eye out when a patch is released in case that particular avionics file was updated. But that doesn't happen nearly as often as the rwr.list file needs updating.

I see. Makes sense.

So, back to my original question - does anyone have the list of stock aircraft that need rwr.lst files? I don't mind putting all the edited files together... if someone can help me with that list. I don't have time to go digging through each .cat hoping to stumble across each rwr.lst file, or extract every avionic.ini file to check and see if it uses TEWS.

Guys:

Seems to me that a universal RWR.LST would be a natural fit for the SF2 Realism Mod (which is also slated to have a universal SquadronList.INI among other things).

Might I suggest that this discussion be migrated to that thread?

Sure thing, Eric.

I have noticed a strange behavior on SA-5 missile flight. Some seconds after launch, it starts to rotate. I haven't seen something like that in other SAMs, just this one. Any idea on how to solve it?

I'm having issues trying to get the installation to work. I've unpacked and edited the .INI files into /objects and /flight, as suggested, but the new SAM systems are not appearing as ground objects options in the menus.

I'm specifically trying to build a scenario for UK Air Defence Region during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In addition to the early model Lightning interceptors, with some residual Hunter and Javelin units protecting the V-bomber bases, there were also Bloodhound SAM systems providing some coverage over the critical areas of the Bomber Command bases. I'd like to try and factor these into the set-up. So far, no luck.

Thanks,

Steve

Found the problem: the red_objects, blue_objects directories were not located correctly in my setup. Now sorted...
