Forgot about Craig, but I thought he did a good job with Casino Royale for his first outing.

Connery= "Thunderball"

Moore= "Moonracker"(sp)

Brosnan= "Goldeneye"

Craig= "Casino Royal"

Dalton sucked and Lazenby starred in the highly under rated " On Her Majesties Secret Service."

OHMSS is very underrated, had some of the best action sequences of the series. I didn't care for Savalas as Blofeld, should've been some OTHER bad guy and not overused Blofeld. Besides, there were too many actors playing him. Pleasance, Gray, Savalas? Come on.

Diana Rigg I felt was underused, but Lazenby did a good job for a guy trying to replace a legend!

As for Dalton, the films are very good IF you don't think of them as "Bond" so much. However, you can see the seed of what the Craig films will be. They are far more brutal and realistic than the Moore films which preceded them or the Brosnan films which came after. While I still don't think of Dalton as Bond, he was more like a British version of Bourne before Craig was officially given that title. Also, Robert Davi was one of the best Bond villains of the 80s with some great quips (which most villains didn't get).

I really liked Dalton as he was a close verison to the books until Craig came along. George Lazenby did a great job. I wonder what he would of done if he had been given other opportunites to continue playing Bond.

Daniel Craig - Casino Royale

Roger Moore - Any with one liners - well was funny for me in the 80s

Pierce Brosnan - Golden Eye

Connery - Goldfinger

Brosnan - License to kilt

Connery - Goldfinger (my favorite Bond in my favourite Bond movie. Ever)

Lazenby - OHMSS (Agreed that it's very underrated. Just finished the book to which the movie sticks surprisingly closely. Also has the best ending of all the Bond movies. With the possible exception of Moonraker: Sir Frederick Gray, Minister of Defence: My God, what's Bond doing? Q: I think he's attempting re-entry, sir.)

Roger Moore - Live and Let Die (although I do like the ski chase at the beginning of The Spy Who Loved Me)

Pierce Brosnan - The World Is Not enough

Daniel Craig - Casino Royale

I've also got a soft spot for the David Niven/Woody Allen/Peter Sellers etc Casino Royale - a classic comedy way before Austin Powers was a twinkle in Mike Myers' eye. And if someone would re-do Never Say Never Again with a John Barry or David Arnold soundtrack and Shirley Bassey singing the title song I would be really grateful!

Connery - Goldfinger.

Brosnan - Goldeneye

Craig - Casion Royale and Quantum of Solace (loved the darker side of Bond in both the movies, giving the guy oil to drink, ice cold, man).

Lazenby learned too late about loose lips sinking ships. Same thing happened to Richard Donner and Superman 2. You don't get quoted in the press badmouthing your bosses and expect to work with them again.

Connery: Thunderball ! (and obviously his "remake" Never Say Never Again)

Lazenby: I still hesitate...

Moore: For Your Eyes Only

Dalton: Licence to Kill

Brosnan: Tomorrow Never Die

I find it puzzling how many people don't think Goldeneye was Brosnan's best. I grant the score sucked (aside from the main theme by Bono and Tina Turner which was the best of his 4), but Sean Bean was the best Bond villain of the 90s!

I found Goldeneye exeptional for his post-Cold War atmosphere, the T-54/55 (maybe 62 ? It's far ago now...) scene in Moscow, obviously his opening theme and many other things, but the Brosnan's second Bond got his Ecureuil helicopter scene, and James riding a beautiful BMW flat bike that I really like, as the story.
