Nice project HH!

I would love to fly something different...

BTW, the Albatros D.III (OAW) is a 1917 plane, not operational before mid '17 to be more specific!

Thanks, for the info, on the OAW.

I will adjust these as I get more info and skins perhaps..

The missions are in a developing state, and will change many times before I settle on the finals..

Have 3 base missions so far, will expand this as it is set up..

To include bomber(attack) missions defence and patrol missions..

Perhaps a recon or two also..

Missions From several airbases in the region doing different objectives, and as I read and pick up on More Historical information.

I will include these..

Make sure to read about the use of the sea planes - I guess everyone would love to fly those.

Looks like you're off to a good start. I'll be making some more DFW skins for this.

Since everyone seems so enthusiastic about the "Italian Front Thing", I have made an Austrian Albatros D.III skin.

Of course I cannot make the spinner disappear, as it is part of the 3D model. But apart from that I hope I got the

tones of wood and the "natural" fabric (only clear doped; no camo) of the Koloman Mayrhofer replica right.

I can offer this skin also without any personal markings and serial number, for wider use the "Italian Front" mod.

I will also try my luck with getting the swirl camo right on the D.III fuselage.

Here is a first picture of my late OeFFAG Albatros with the swirl camo, which Lou has made so wonderfully.

Looking good, HH and Olham!

Here's a contribution from me, another KuK-style DFW skin. This one ain't pretty but it's fairly typical of late-war paintjobs. It's based on late-series Brandenburg C.I built by UFFAG (not to be confused with OeFFAG) in mid-1918. The fuselage sides seem to have been neatly painted at the factory with the hex-edged 2-tone scheme common at the time. However, the wings and tail surfaces seem to have arrived at the front unpainted except for the insignia. Or maybe they were taken from another plane that wasn't painted at all. In any case, somebody at the Flik went crazy on it with a spray gun, not taking much care to blend out his spray passes and not caring that the crosses were in the way.

Stumpy, that's amazing!

What else have you built - Austrian and Ialian - that we skinners could paint skins for?

Anyone interested in a specific FM for say, an Aviatik or the Albatros DIII OeFFAG, with 225 HP engine? And maybe a DM for them, too?

HPW, I bet they are. Bullethead and Lou may have some knowledge about the FMs.

Here comes the finished swirl-camo Albatros now.

The other is Oeffag D.III Ba.153 (Serial: 153.12) from Flik 41J.

According to "Wings Palette" it was flown by Sabsfeldwebel Kaszala and Hauptmann Brumowski (ca. 1917).

...and here is another Flik 41J Albatros. I must admit, that I "borrowed" the emblems

from the "Wings Palette" pics; but hey, it's our "Poor Man's Little Italy Campaign".

NO! NO!!

They do NOT come in any shades of pink or purple! No, they don't!

... although... - when I see the Austrian camo fabric made by a furniture company,

and looking like a sofa - I wouldn't be asthonished to see some craft with Polka dots...
