How to get an add-on a/c involved as AI?

I was wondering if there's a way to have the add-on aircraft pop-up in the game as an AI? You can insert them in the mission editor of course, but apart from that... ? Any idea?

 

Or does this only work for DLC's?

Add-on aircraft already pop up ingame as AI, not sure I understand you correctly.

oh really... didn't notice them to be honest, i only see stock aircraft in the game...

maybe i haven't been lucky yet

In campaign they will only pop up if designated in the campaign.

 

In single mission, they will pop up as long as the mission type, service, theatre, and years of availability all match up to allow them to.
