Found an interesting and possibly overlooked file that puts more Tod's on Gepards BoB terrain. The update file was done by Mauricepiesligeros and is in Spanish so may have been missed by many. Install procedure is to Install Gepards terrain first and then dump the entire contents of Mauricepiesligeros folder into Gepards BoB terrain folder and let everything overwrite. It adds a lot more building tods to the cities as well as larger and better placed trees in the countryside. The downside is some of the historical building objects get partly covered by the new building tods but there looks like enough open areas to move the historical objects around a bit so they have their own space. Here's a link to Mauricepiesligeros file: http://combatace.com/files/file/9383-buildingstrees-for-battle-of-britain-v11/

After installing Mauricepiesligeros file you will notice a folder called Kibuz&klein. If you copy and paste the contents of the Kibuz&Klein folder into the BofB terrain folder it will improve the look of the countryside quite a bit. I'm going to take a careful look at this terrain and see if I can do some further updates for it. I would like to re-tod the city tiles to improve the placement of the building tods as well as add in some new building objects and change the airfields quite a bit but that will take quite a bit of time. Expect some tod related questions soon!

i don't have the upgrade, baff, so could you post a screenie of the city with the TODs? There's a possiblity they might be Stary's, that use the "large clusters of large buildings".

If I see it, I'll know!!

Here is a screenshot and the bitmap for the building tods.

The very large rectangular building I would like to downsize. I have done a bit of experimenting with the stock TW tods and by importing and re-naming Gepards tiles into the stock desert terrain I can re-tod the tiles. The problem is, to re-tod with the new buildings I will need the appropriate object map to add to the texture list. Stock TW example:

[ObjectMap001]

MapFilename=terobject_buildings1.bmp

MapClass=0

ObjectTypeCount=7

ObjectType001.ObjectName=BoxBuilding1

ObjectType001.ShapeType=0

ObjectType001.CastShadow=0

ObjectType001.SizeDeviation=0.000000

ObjectType001.Width1=15.000000

ObjectType001.Length1=15.000000

ObjectType001.Height1=15.000000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord01=0.000000,0.500000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord11=0.250000,0.750000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord02=0.250000,0.500000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord12=0.500000,0.750000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord03=0.500000,0.500000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord13=0.750000,0.750000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord04=0.250000,0.500000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord14=0.500000,0.750000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord05=0.000000,0.250000

ObjectType001.TextureCoord15=0.125000,0.375000

ObjectType002.ObjectName=BoxBuilding2

ObjectType002.ShapeType=0

ObjectType002.CastShadow=0

ObjectType002.SizeDeviation=0.000000

ObjectType002.Width1=20.000000

ObjectType002.Length1=20.000000

ObjectType002.Height1=20.000000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord01=0.500000,0.000000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord11=0.750000,0.250000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord02=0.750000,0.000000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord12=1.000000,0.250000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord03=0.750000,0.000000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord13=1.000000,0.250000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord04=1.000000,0.000000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord14=0.750000,0.250000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord05=0.125000,0.250000

ObjectType002.TextureCoord15=0.250000,0.375000

Anyone have the object map for those Tod's?

those ARE stary's tods. they were built, iirc, as one objcet, and imported (something i've never learned to do!)

the bmp you posted is the stock 'terobjects_buildings.bmp'.

to re-TOD, to use the stock 3W 'little buildings', you'll have to use the terrain editor.

I did do a test re-tod on one tile using the terrain editor and the stock TW building tods but it's an exercise in futility using the stock tods, they are so small you would need about 1000 per tile to even begin to fill the spaces and it still probably wouldn't look very good.. Maybe Stary will see this and post his object map. [hint hint]

cool stuff there Russo! My repaint is for the "BOB for the 70s" version of the terrain but as it is the same TFD, tileset, will have use for both! As for re-targeting the terrain, I'm not the right guy as I did it only to a limited amount

I plan to do some new airfields for the BoB terrain and introduce some new building objects. Russo, any completed building objects you have will find some use somewhere so would be great if you uploaded them. I REALLY like the pier, that would look great in any terrain!

yeah, most of my hangars from that pack would fit WW2 OR 50s terrains, some with minor reskinning only

Since this is a BoB topic. I'm having a problem with aircraft being stacked on each other during the take off stage of missions. Also, the AI controled wingmen will turn to the left and take off across the airbase. I got the 1.4 terrain update. Is there something I'm missing and if not, how do I fix this problem?

Thanks.

look in the terrainfolder, and tell what is the 'date modified' for the 4 airfiled inis

desert_airfield1

desert_airfield2

desert_airfield3

desert_airfield6

you'll need to 'change view' in your windows exploer pane set setup

mine are dated 2009

they most likely need updating/replace in the later versions,but that may nessicate rebuilding the airfields, as they're general layout is different from stock,

at worst, back up those 4 by renaming, and extract the latest ones from the desert.cat, drop them into the BoB terrain folder, see what happens

Hey Wrench.

I looked in the terrain folder and they wern't even there. What I did was copy and past the above airfields from the central pacific terrain (dated 2011) and now it seems to work fine.

Thanks.

I wonder if a First Eagles conversión could be done. We have Gothas and Staakens at A-Team site. We have Zeppelins, and ships are on the way....

should be a simple drop in, although you'd need the SF1 or SF2 desert terrain cat to reference most of the terrain objects (buildings, warehouses, etc)

just like my ww1 palestine terrain, (again, using the desert cat)
