I took a short stop in Toulon and its surroundings to photograph some elements of the French Navy... with some vets' shamefully treated like pieces of waste !

Nice photos

I heard that the russian navy has ordered the same class of ship as the Dixmude

BDW on wikipedia it says that the Duquesne is still active as a training ship, and that it has been decommissioned in 2008, how come then that it has rusted away in only 5 years??

For the Mistral class ships, I also heard that the Russian Navy ordered some units, with some modifications in hangars and deck to operate KA-52 and transport helicopters.

But about the Duquesne I don't really know... it is probably used as a training ship, but for frogmen, clearance or rescue divers. The French Navy diving school is just close to the ship, many apnea exercises are performed, comprising passing under the ship's hull.
