Dysko 93 Posted June 19, 2013 Last weekend the Swiss watchmaker company Oris organized a fly-in in Ambrì airport, a former military airbase now used as a general aviation airport in Canton Ticino, in southern Switzerland. In Italy I'm used to great distances between the public and the airplanes. In Switzerland... The rudder is linked to the ailerons so that always performs coordinated turns: Lots of PC-7s were flying, most of them with paying passengers on board: Focke-Wulf FW-149, license built version of the Italian light plane Piaggio P.149: Bolkow Bo.208 Junior: Gyroflug Super Canard. It is based on the Grob Twin Astir glider: it retains the glider's cockpit section, but with an added engine, different wingplant and canards: de Havilland of Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk: Every fly-in MUST have a yellow Piper Cub! Former Libyan SIAI-Marchetti SF-260, now wearing a fantasy livery: Did the Breitling Jet Team made an apperance? I love how casual everyone is around the aircraft during servicing and watching from above the HAS.
