Skin overlap on skyraiders

Recommended Posts

HI everyone,

First post on a great site for add-ons! Cheers to those who give amount of time for files and maintenance!

I'm trying for the last days to solve a decal problem on skyraiders. I have all 5 merged SF2 games. along with the SF2NA Expansion pack but ONLY my sandy's got the problem on the picture whatever decal i put on this beauty.

Anybody got this problem and found a way to solve it?

I didn't touch to the ini or anything.

Thanks!post-79911-0-96483200-1377772739_thumb.jpg

its a data ini problem, discovered with the May patch, and solved by extracting a NEW data in for ALL the SPADs and putting them in ALL the aircraft folders. And then transferring any/all fixes/tweeks and additions to the NEWEST version

especially needed for my KAW Skyraiders, that are built from the 3W A-1H

Thanks for the reply Wrench. You seems to be some king of God around here :) Do I take this ''fresh'' data.ini file on any SF2 install from a pre-may version of the game (if so, how the hell to get one) or is there this file around?

Thanks in advance again!

no, you need the Newest version (May or June or July or whatever it is now). You'll need the 3W Cat extractor -in our downloads section someplace, and you'll find the data inis for A-1s (H & J, and both _67 versions) in the ObjectData009.cat

backup** the originals data inis (if any), and copy/paste the newly extracted ones into each aircraft folder (rename if necessary for KAW or RN usage)  then locate and copy the modified statements from the backed up one, to the new one. These are usually for canopy operation or modified weapons hard points (iirc, on the KAW versions there are some other changes removing the gun barrels on the AD-2/3)

(**-- just rename the original to  ori-***_Data.ini. that's what I did)

Thanks for your help Wrench. I solved this issue with your precious tips. Only have to figure out now how to get wings to fold and open/close canopy...

I also add this beauty in the desert campaign as flying squadrons (A-1J / VA-25). Everything works fine, but i can only get the default skins ( the one's from the skyraider pack won't show)... Can you also help me out on this one?

From campaign1_data :

[AirUnit048]
AircraftType=A-1J
Squadron=VA25
ForceID=1
Nation=USN
DefaultTexture=VA25
CarrierBased=True
BaseArea=Whiskey Station
NavalUnitID=1
ShipID=1
CarrierNumber=63
RandomChance=100
MissionRate=0.9
MaxAircraft=16
StartAircraft=16
MaxPilots=16
StartPilots=16
Experience=100
Morale=100
Supply=50
MissionChance[sWEEP]=0
MissionChance[CAP]=0
MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=0
MissionChance[ESCORT]=0
MissionChance=20
MissionChance[CAS]=40
MissionChance[sEAD]=50
MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=10
MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=30
MissionChance[RECON]=10
UpgradeType=FIXED
Upgrade[01].Year=1967
Upgrade[01].Type=A-1J_67

From campaign1 :

[uSNUnit034]
Squadron=VA25
ForceID=1
UnitID=15
StartDate=09/01/1959
DescFile=Campaign1Desc.txt
StartText=Campaign1Start2.txt
CampaignBaseScreen=Ranger61.JPG
AircraftType=A-1J

Am I missing something?

don't worry about the wing fold; there are SEVER weapons placement issues related to the lod. Just leave them alone

as to the canopy

where XXX is the next number in sequence...

add to Fuselage:

SystemName[xxx]=Canopy

and down in the crew section:

[Canopy]

SystemType=ANIMATION

InputName=ANIMATION_10

DeploymentMethod=MANUAL

AnimationTime=3.0

AnimationID=4

make sure you have your animation keystrokes set. this uses shift/0 (zero)

Thank Wrench.

You were a great help on my minor bug. Everything works fine now and I get rid of the wing fold thing...

I solved the decal problem by the way. Seems I could do this alone :)

thanks again for your help!
