Carrier tune up

Recommended Posts

Guest capun

Here's some tips to tune up your carrier and missions.

JSF_Aggie found a couple of typoe in the data ini file

Open up the file and make the following edits

[MovementSystem]

MaxRoadSpeed=18.78

MaxOffRoadSpeed=18.78

PowerAvailable=17151097.0

MaxTurnRate=0.5 <- Reduce this otherwise

the ship turns too fast

MaxDeceleration=0.10

SuspensionConstant=0.0 <- Correct value,

otherwise the ship pitches and throws the plane off the

cat

[Deck]

SystemType=FLIGHT_DECK

FlightDeckHeight=14.5837

FlightDeckLenght=280.178 <- There was a typo here

[Cat1]

SystemType=CATAPULT

CatapultID=1

StartPosition=-8.2838,52.7304,14.5837

EndPosition=-8.2838,132.7502,14.5837

LaunchTime=0.5 <- Play with this

value. 2.0 works with the high powered planes, but you

need to reduce it to launch the slower planes

Do the same for the other cats.

In you mission.msn file be sure to have this

[MissionData]

.

AdjustStartPosition=FALSE <- Be sure of this values

AdjustBaseWaypoint=FALSE <- Be sure of this value

[AircraftMission001]

AircraftType=F-9J

.

CarrierBased=TRUE <- Must

Position=598000.000000,618000.000000,17.0 <- Last value

(Height) cannot be zero, it works even with 100

StartTime=0

StartOnGround=TRUE <- Must

Heading=270 <- Match the carrier heading

Speed=0.0 <- Must

[GroundMission001]

GroundObjectType=CV-43

Name=USS Coral Sea

NavalObject=TRUE

Carrier=TRUE

.

Position=598000.000000,618000.000000,600.0 <- Last value

(Height) cannot be zero,

Heading=270.00 <- Match the plane heading

.

Speed=15 <- Need speed to create some

headwind

Waypoint[01].Position=499799,619341,1000.0

Waypoint[01].Size=500

Waypoint[01].Command=WAYPOINT

The ship first waypoint should be in the heading direction

otherwise the ship will turn and kick the plane off
