Yeesh those carriers had to have been smaller than the USN's refitted Essex-class ships...and they launched and recovered F-4s and Buccaneers on those!

 

Hats off to our UK cousins, they were the pioneers of modern naval aviation.

Never knew the sea vixen had such an offset cockpit.

 

Also, anyone know if the Royal Navy's carrier-based F-4s were ever used for A/G or were they strictly air defense? One would figure that was a lot of weight to haul off those tiny decks.

Seems like it was the case with SNEB rockets pods and small/medium sized bombs.
