Problem adding custom nation and squadron to TSF OMS campaign

Hi, I've been trying to put an additional unit in the Operation Mannerheim's Skold campaign since the mission spread the campaign customizer gives me isn't too much to my liking.

 

However, for some reason, the unit ends up as part of the FVM even though I added its respective nation to the campaign file and set up its own entry in the data.ini file.

 

I'm not sure what it is that I'm missing, because I've done the same thing before with another campaign and had a successful result.

Didn't realize I needed to change the limited nations list for the terrain itself.  I'll try that.

Okay, changed the limited nations list, but still having the same issue.  Everything seems normal until the campaign actually starts, where the unit ends up having the callsigns of the FVM and the markings of the FVM.

you would have to make new ones, and with the call signs you would also have to make new soundfiles to get them to call out the same thing as on the screen.

 

markings are the easiest fix, just plant new ones in the decal folder, call em out in the ini and set to DecalLevel=0. not pretty or the usual route but it will get them in there

you also need to check (whichever) aircraft's data ini for Exported=TRUE, and have the new nation in that aircraft's user list ini.

 

You also need to call out the nation in the skin's texture set (might not actually be necessary, but it does lock a skin/decal set to a nation)

I've done all of the above.

 

Like I said, the problem only appears in the Operation Mannerheim's Skold campaign that comes with TSF.  I have an independent nation set up which is perfectly selectable in the initial drop-down menu.  But when actually entering the campaign (at the first mission screen) the aircraft has the proper paint scheme, but the national markings do not match the nation it should be under.  Nor do the callsigns.  

 

So as an example:

 

I added VF-103 with F-14Bs and the US Navy as a Sweden-allied unit and nation in the campaign's data files.  

 

I can select "US Navy" and VF-103 in the "Create Campaign" screen.  However, once I actually do so, and start the campaign, said VF-103 Tomcats do not have the US Navy markings and callsigns they should, but rather the markings of the Forsvarmarkten (or however you spell it).  From what I can tell, for some reason the game is confusing my Tomcat squadron with one of the default Gripen squadrons, and I'm not sure why.

Looks like a UnitID sequence problem. Try

My reason being Unitid count are separate for either side. So although in the data.ini the F-14 squadron has [Airunit043], it is the 17th down the list for blue units. Similarly if one wants to add red side Mig-29C_rus of the "1th Fighter Regiment" to the player flyable list it would have UnitID=1 instead of 16.

Still getting the same issue.  At this point I'm completely confused as to why it's happening.

[airunit024], [airunit031], [airunit032] and [airunit035] are all missiong... more sequencing problems...

 

 

 

edit: OK I can confirm it is due to the messed up Airunit sequence. I added the TW F-14A like you and got the swedish service marking. Instead I added the F-14 to [airunit024] and USN markings showed up OK.

 

Ideally it is best to re-sort the unit list in the campaign data ini but, I suppose adding it to the Airunit024 slot will do for your purpose.

Im not a modder or something like that, but i edit some campaigns for my personal use.
I found some problems, and making a research, find this topic.

My Belgium planes, Italian and etc are assuming another countries.

But still the same.

For example, the Belgium F-16, after i selected, in flight show USAF markings.
The czech L-39, Russian markings..

But only if i fly them, when AI fly it, looks ok.
