Mirage F-1CZ Late

Mirage F-1CZ (82).

This mod is dedicated to BPAO, nothing would have been possible without him.

South Africa began looking for a replacement for the Mirage III in 1971 and purchased a licence to manufacture the Mirage F1 and its engine, the intention being to produce
up to 100 Mirage F1s. This license was however cancelled because of the 1977 arms embargo. The SAAF then bought 16 Mirage F1CZs and 32 Mirage F1AZs which were quickly
delivered by Dassault before the embargo was implemented, with deliveries starting in 1975. Both the F1CZ and F1AZ variants of the SAAF saw action during operations in the
Border War.

This version include new RWR and chaffs and flares dispensers.

Covered unit :

N°3 Squadron
Annual Air Combat Manoeuvring 1986

A big thank to all on Combatace and C6 forums that helped us solving issues we encountered.
Any omission in credits is totally unwanted, if I forgot somebody, let me know, I will correct this.

This addon is and will in all cases remain freeware.

Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms.

Enjoy

The Mirage F-1 Team.

Hello Lex,
yes, the latest release is up to date regarding the function of the HUD symbols/readouts.
Altitude scale is limited to maximal 2000 feet and the "horizon" (the small center ---   --- symbol)
functions as a extended reference for the attitude reticle (aka pitch ladder).

THX Crusader for the reply!

ok. i see. Got an A2A combat and i see what it does. But why is the altimeter fixed on 2000? this is under Radar alt (5000) it make no sense for me. I know how i can change it, but i woudnt if this value make sense (reality)

Real aircraft:
The range covered by the scale tape (the V 196 type HUD is an electro-mechanical unit) goes from 0 to 2000 feet.
It is intended for low altitude navigation, approach and the air to ground mode.
If the radar altitude is above 2000 feet the scale readout would be not visible anymore.

We cant do that in SF, we have to make do with the scale being "stuck" at 2000 feet :(

:)

When it became clear that the Mirage F1 was becoming a successful production aircraft, Dassault began investigating the possibility of a dedicated reconnaissance version for its most important client, the French Air Force. However, the escalating cost of fighter aircraft meant that add-on pods for this purpose were a more economical alternative. Many French Air Force aircraft, as well as those of some export clients (such as Iraq's Mirage F1EQ), did indeed have a variety of reconnaissance pods available, which were attached to the underside of the main fuselage. However, the development of a tactical reconnaissance aircraft for the French Air Force continued, and the first Mirage F1CR flew on 20 November 1981.
