Good News (for a change) & Bad News (nothing new)

Recommended Posts

Greetings all!!!

Any day now I'm due to be back in the land of the gaming. I've finally been able to purchase a new gaming rig after my old 'un got fried in a power surge last year. Good news is; I've been able to splash out on a reasonably high spec PC Specialist Vortex Fusion II unit with:

* Windows 10 64-bit

* Overclocked Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor

* 4.6 Ghz Quad Core with 8mb cache

* 16Gb DDR4 RAM

* 2Tb Main Drive w/ 240Gb SSD drive

Unfortunately It doesn't come with a wireless LAN card. I managed to obtain a Ralink RT61 Turbo Wireless LAN Card but I'm not sure if it'll be compatible with the new rig. Does anybody know if it is?

Also, it appears that my old PS2 keyboard is not compatible with Windows 10, but strangely enough, it was working just fine when I set it up initially after turning it on for the first time. Looks like a USB keyboard is my only option here, so it'll be Friday at the earliest until that gets sorted. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning that has no batteries for his toys!! :angry:  :angry:  :angry:

Not sure, as I don't have access to it until I get myself a USB keyboard, but it's got an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB GDDR5) graphics card

Nice one and about time.......things might look a bit different in SF world when you are up and running!

I've got a lot of work on my hands over the coming weeks. Essentially I'm going to have to start from scratch and re-download most if not all the mods I had in my SF2 install.

I'm also thinking about getting DCS World as I've watched a lot of YouTube videos and it seems damn impressive, even if the learning curve is pretty steep. There'll also have to be the obligatory control stick, throttle and rudder pedals to buy.

      Apologies if this is in the wrong forum but I want to install SF2 on a second bigger hard drive, i've created a new program files folder and installed SF2 successfully into that folder, made a copy of the exe file, run that for mods but the Thridwire Saved Games folder keep getting created on my C Drive in the saved games folder but i want this on my second hard drive also due to the size of the mods i want to install.
      Any idea's how to keep everything including the mods folder on my D Drive please?

      Hi all, long time since I’ve posted. First, I don’t know much about modding as the most I’ve done was trying to shoehorn LGBs off a F-100 and some minor skinning. Combatace in general has been the modding nest for flight sims on the internet. Probably the most talented group of individuals in existence who always shared what they knew to help others.
      There is a small group in DCS trying to bring to life the F-105D at a FC3 level of playability or greater. Is the WTR modding group still around? I know they had at one point created a new detailed F-105D, cockpit and had researched the Thud immensely. Seems they have pruned back their webpage including their contact information. At this point, research has begun and we’re looking for a 3D model or modeler. Pretty sure we could use some advice on it all.
