SPAD XII Cannon?

Recommended Posts

Apologies if it's out there somewhere where I can't find it...

How do you get the 37mm cannon on the SPAD XII to fire?

I have a gun type of 37MM_SAMC which is what's called for in the data.ini, and I have programmed cntrl+f to be my fire secondary guns key.

But I get nothin'

What am I missing?

It works with the machine-gun. you push the trigger and you are firing the machine gun and one 37mm shell. Then you must reload the gun (the same button you use when you are reloading a Lewis). This is not an auto-cannon. It fires only a shell each time.

OK, I put the .ini file in the effects folder. It appears to be firing (as I have to reload it), but I don't see anything to indicate that it's fired.

I guess I expected a sound, or something coming out of the prop hub. I guess it is working.

ummm.... If I may interject, as stated in the announement thread

The canon is on the secondary fire button and takes 12 sec to reload (new sound more or less reflects this)
It has 12 reloads

and in the aircraft's data ini:

[internalGun2]

SystemType=FIXED_GUN
GunTypeName=37MM_SAMC
InputName=FIRE_SECONDARY_GUN
GunGroup=2
//MuzzlePosition=0.0,0.8,0.0
MuzzlePosition=0.0,0.9,0.0
LightPosition= 0.0,0.8,0.0
AimAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0
MaxAmmo=1
NumReloads=11
ReloadTime=12.0
EjectShells=FALSE
MinExtentPosition= 0.23,-0.61,0.41
MaxExtentPosition= 0.13, 0.43,0.54
Synchronized=FALSE

what the issue more looks like, is the OP needs to have the Fire_Secondary_Gun key mapped to his controller, and the key for the gun group selection(s) mapped as well

Well, I read that, bu it appears to fire with the regular button as well - at least it needs reloading in between shots.
