Does anyone know what plane is that ? I found the photo but I can't find AWACS's name. I looked into Pakistani AWACS data and they recently use the  one from Sweden.

Let me Google that for you... Ah here it is...

The host plane is a Chinese evolution of the An-12, the Shaanxi Y-8.

The Chinese have an AWACS variant themselves, the Shaanxi KJ-200, using the same radar as the Swedish Saab Argus and Erieye.

This one is a Shaanxi ZDK-03, a KJ-200 variant built for Pakistan with an AESA radar of Chinese origin, supposedly with better performances than the Erieye also operated by Pakistan.

Considering there's no coding for AWACs in any 1stGen game (and somewhat minimal in SF2), it would just be eye candy, sitting around the airbases

Not quite. Have you tried my AWACS mods? Flying a recon mission as AWACS and  handling the two escort fighters to take care of a total of 6 to 12 enemy flights and coming home in one piece, inclding your escort, could be quite a ride. Give a try and tell me what you think.

Soon I will release a pack of AWACS for this very mod. (E-3D, E-3F, E-3A Saudi, E-3A, E-767 and the Swedish one.
