Hello gents,'

See pics below for oddities on the early Flogger-A (MiG 23 type S)....occasionally the plane drifts sideways at a 90 degree angle, throwing the cockpit view off...this also happens sometimes in spins/stalls...the only mods I've made to the data inis that come with the early Floggers is copying/pasting of stock CD0 values from SF2 (from the MiG 23 MS export variant)...otherwise it was impossible to push past about Mach 1.2 at alt. I haven't noticed this oddity on later Floggers, only the early ones with the narrower wing (have tried limiting yaw values but doesn't seem to make a difference). The Floggers I'm using are from the big 2-pack MiG install available on CombatAce, by the way, with Stary's enhanced cockpits installed. Comments/suggestions appreciated.

did you try renaming the data ini, so it reverts to stock, and see if the issue disappears? An error might have occured during the copy/paste operation.

Those images look like you've hit "The Wall" at the map's edge. have you tested on ALL terrains? That visual shift has been known to happen like that.

Please post the url to the download link. There are/have been more than one Flogger available (other than TKs) and knowing what the read me says might be of assistance

Thanks for the reply Wrench...the MiG-23 S is from the following pack:

https://combatace.com/files/file/12151-sf2-mig-23-mig-27-floggers-part-1/

I'll also test the 23 S with a different data ini (maybe one of the stock ones such as from the 23 MS that comes with SF2 and will post results in a day or two). Probably it's just a data ini problem. Only tested this out with the Himalayas terrain...will test the Alaska terrain too and compare.

@VonS Judging by the screenshots, you definitely hit the terrain's borders, aka The Wall. This has nothing to do with the FM. Such "issue" happens when you hit the terrain's border, with whichever plane you use. The Himalaya terrain is very small. With bigger terrains, you rarely get to fly near the borders.

That happens with every single aircraft when flying in the map border (the wall as Menrva said). It has to do with the game engine not the Flogger-A.

Thanks gents' for the quick replies...have now double-checked everything and it is definitely the "wall" in the Himalayas map, good to know that it's not a data ini problem. Map pic. below of where the wall emerges in the Himalayas map...somewhere approaching 70 longitude.

most assuredly, test on another terrain. the Himialya's is exceedingly small, and has many issues with The Wall (tm)

      Hi everyone,
I recently got into weapon modding and wanted to edit some missiles.
I went for the Weapons Folder with the Weapons Editor, and some weapons were missing, even tho i can see them and equip them in-game.
I wanted to edit the AA-2D Atoll for my Su-22M3, but there's no AA-2 folder inside Weapons folder, nor inside plane folder, even tho the missile is equippable and i can see it/use it in-game.
Since there's no Atoll folder, i have no idea how is it possible for me to have it in-game, and even less i know on how am i supposed to edit it through Weapons Editor, since i can't select the folder.
I thought it may be a sort of "built-in-game" missile and for this reason not showing in weapons folder (idk i just made an hypothesis).
So i tried using the CAT Extractor, but seems like not working... no matter which CAT file i select, it says "error opening this .CAT file, no files can be extracted", how's that? How do i fix it? Am i doing something wrong?
Thank you in advance for helping me fixing all these issues or helping me find what i'm doing wrong

I am new to this game but I am loving it and the dynamic campaign is amazing. my only and only problem is that planes just dissapear in the distance, literally just dissapear a short distance a way, around 200 - 500 meters away? not too sure but its very off putting and its clearly an issue for gameplay.
I am using Patch July 2013
      Wings over Korea mod
I play on 3840x2160 4K resolution (I'd prefer playing on that) I have extracted the flightengine ini into SF2 Filght folder as well as to the korea folder and made some changes like turned off fade away and increased mesh values, but still to no avail? Anyway to fix this? Its literally the only thing destroying the fun I have with this game.

      Hi,
after seeing the TMF F-14 has wrong and inaccurate speed and fuel indicators, i found out the default Third Wire F-14 has working and accurate ones, but i dont wanna use it cause the TMF Tomcat is better and the cockpit too more realistic too, so can you switch the speed and fuel indicators on the TMF F-14 with the default Third Wire F-14? And for fuel too? Do you need to 3D model and/or do something else other than edit some text files?
And is it or it's not possible to do?
Down here are 2 pictures from the correct cockpit in the default Third Wire F-14:

And 2 from the TMF F-14 (the inaccurate one):

      Thanks for helping.
