AT-26 & AT-26A Assistance needed!!

Recommended Posts

I'm now working on bringing these to FAB aircraft into the SF2-verse, and require some help.

I have a listing of the FAB serials (4462-4627), but need to know where the 'break' is for the 2 versions.

Also, trying to figure out WHAT gun and how much ammo is carried in the (unfortunately) built-into-the-LOD under wing gunpods on the AT-26 Xivante (2 seater).

any and all assistance will be GREATLY appriciated!! Links to websites, books, magazine articles, etc!

Many thanks in advance!

I'm not really familiar with this plane, but I had a look and it seems those serials are for the AT-26 2-seater-variant only (182 produced, minus 16 for export is 4462-4628 - just 1 to much, maybe a prototype.)

4630 and 4635 are serials I found for the AT-26A single-seater.

AT-26 Information source

I'll have a further look tomorrow.

Edit:

Some more I found.

* = Republic South Africa

EMB 326GB - Xavante, licenced Aermacchi MB-326GC (x 182)
 - AT-26: Xavante for FAB (x 166 total) and export
 - AT-26A: Reconditioned MB-326KC Impala II (11 of 14 bought from RSA*)
 - RT-26: AT-26s converted to reconnaissance role
 - XAT-26: Special test a/c for GEEV (Grupo Especial de Ensaio em Voo)

https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=16826.0

Edit2:

The guns seem to be 30mm DEFA-cannons with 125rpg or 300rpg. (2 different sources). 125rpg seems more realistic I guess.

Sorry, misread the question. Above Info is for the single-seater.

Thanks!

The rudnel site has been of great help; found that yesturday!

Now, the next questions

how many aircraft in the squadron/group? it seem each flight of 1/4 GAV have differeing card suites (heart, spade, diamond, club) on their tail fins. This is super easy to do with Level-2 decals (nobody does that better than me!). So, how many A/C in each flight?
