Advice on Integrating the YAP CV-34 into...

Recommended Posts

...into USN VF-51 F9F-2 Korean War(CV-45 Valley Forge 5th Patrol Nov 1950) 1.0 campaign.  I took a look at the file structure for the Essex class carrier used in the campaign and the structure is totally different than the YAP Oriskany so I'm scratching my head here.

Thanks in advance.

Barkhorn1x,

I'm not sure what you are asking here, but I think you want to use the YAP CV-34 as the CV-45 USS Valley Forge in your Korean Air War install?

if so, I've attached a copy of the CV-34 renumbered as the CV-45 along with required files except for the YAP Essex_Korea.LOD.

Place your YAP Essex_Korea.LOD in the attached folder, then place the folder in you KAW GroundObject folder.

If this works for you, let me know.

If you then want to add the entries to your campaign and need help, ask.

Good luck,

Geary

Just an awful pity the SCB-125 upgrade from YAP can't be implemented. They're a huge improvement over the stock version.

Sorry, bud, I was referring to the SCB-125A modernisation uprgade with the angled deck.

I went to the trouble of buying YAP with the express purpouse of using them in SF2, but the aircraft keep flying through the deck.

These YAP carriers and ships look pretty darn good from the screenshots.

I just wish these guys form the YAP team would add one or two distance LODs to their carriers and escorts. It would take about an hour to add a model with the framerate-heavy details removed, for further distances. Such a model may also be useful as a collision model. With that in mind I prefer the stock SCB-125.

So, I guess you all don't know about these...????

WBS made them at my request, and they should have been included in the KAW mods (both of them, iirc)

Yes, they are there and they are nice, as is all of WBS's work.  But I do like the YAP crewmen.
