Hi all guyys,

is quite some times now than I wonder about a RWR in the Nesher.

If I remember well,it was present in WOI and after all,the fin' leading edge  of the planes had a RWR receiwer,so I wonder if at least an aural tone will be present.

This will be a very useful thing in the Yom Kippur campaign....

Stay safe guys.

aint nothing too it! (from the guy that invented the audio=only RWR 'way in the 2000s.)

extract the avionics ini fro the Nesher from whatever cat it's in. Also, extract the data ini -- it'll need updating too.

place both in the Nesher's aircraft folder

open the avionics ini, and add the following lines:

[RWR]
Type=AUDIO_ONLY
TrackSound=RWRTrackSound.wav
LockSound=RWRLockSound.wav

[RWRTrackSound]
Priority=HIGH
3DSound=FALSE
Looped=TRUE
NumBuffers=1

[RWRLockSound]
Priority=HIGH
3DSound=FALSE
Looped=TRUE
NumBuffers=1

save, and close

open the Nesher's data ini, and in the DetectSystem section --->

[DetectSystem]
Name=
RadarType=RANGING
VisualBlindArc=5,6,7
VisualRestrictedArc=4L,8L
MaxVisibleDistance=7200.0
HasRWR=FALSE

change the FALSE to TRUE.

this will give you the beeps! (no direction, but it'll tell you when something is looking at you, and when they shoot)

Hello all guys, how are you?

All safe and healty I hope.

Despite not related to this topic, I 'll ask help for a small thing.

I've installed SF2Viet Exp Gold + all the patches + VPAF Exp;now,with the F-105D_66 independently from what I load on the outer pylons I've the Aim-9 rails mounted and ,curiously, when the 'winders're on,the rail don't show...

Any help?

Obviously the game is full merged and patched at July 2013

P.S. Even if I've installed only now the Gold edition + the other mods for SF2V I 'll thanks yo all for the great job, there're even the formation take off!!!!

check the load ini, and see if the RackType= name is there, and then check the /Weapons folder for that rack. If it's missing, you might need to hunt it down. Or tell us the name and we'll try and get it to you.

Thanks Wrench.

I checked and rechecked but there aren't any Rack lines in both the F-105D and the -105D_66

What look strange to me is that in the Load inis are present lines for 7 pylons but in the Data inis there're only five pylons, the Winders' ones are omitted, can be these the problem?

I know that in the Data the outer pylons are allowed to carry IRM but there no lines for the rack

If these are the only weapon stations in your _Data.ini, then my guess is that you use an outdated file. The F-105D_66_Data.ini extracted from the latest version of the game includes 7 stations (6 & 7 are the AIM-9 stations). Remove the _Data.ini from your F-105D_66 folder.

Perfect!

I've extracted the DATA from the stock Thuds and replaced the ones in the modded games and now is all perfect!

Thanks a lot for the head- ups!!!!

Hi guys,

I hope you're all safe and in healt!

In my SF2NA Med Crisis, the Lybian Mirages show the tanks this way

DO3X5S.jpg

Not only without skin, but over another tanks!

The cause? Old file?

If yes, how can solve this issue?

Thanks all

delete any old data inis. it's a glitch caused by the "built into the aircraft lods fuel tanks". Or extract and replace with a new one

Extract from where? I far I know the Mirage 5D/DE isn't a TW plane.

yes they are, 5E, 5DE, 5SDE they're all 3W birds. You can tell, as the fuel tank is built into the aircraft lod.

they're from DLC 28. check inside the main ini, and you should see the lod description as:

Quote

[AircraftData]
AircraftFullName=Mirage 5DE
AircraftShortName=Mirage 5
AircraftDataFile=Mirage5DE_data.ini
LoadoutFile=Mirage5DE_Loadout.ini
UserList=Mirage5DE_UserList.ini

[LOD001]
Filename=Mirage5DE.LOD
Distance=100

[LOD002]
Filename=Mirage5DE_LOD2.LOD
Distance=250

[LOD003]
Filename=Mirage5DE_LOD3.LOD
Distance=500

[LOD004]
Filename=Mirage5DE_LOD4.LOD
Distance=1000

[LOD005]
Filename=Mirage5DE_LOD5.LOD
Distance=10000

if not, then you've got some "homebuilt" thats conflicting with something.

Thanks,extracting the files for the 5DE I solved the tanks isuue ( but not for the 5D...); but now the plane can't carry IRM on the outboard pylons.

I checked the old DATA and there are the following lines:

[LeftOuterWingStation2]
SystemType=WEAPON_STATION
StationID=12
StationGroupID=1
StationType=EXTERNAL
AttachmentPosition=-3.07,-2.28,-0.83
AttachmentAngles=0.0,-3.0,0.0
LoadLimit=500
AllowedWeaponClass=IRM
AttachmentType=NATO,FRANCE
SpecificStationCode=MIRAGEIRM
ModelNodeName=outer_pylon_L
PylonMass=25.0
PylonDragArea=0.02

[RightOuterWingStation2]
SystemType=WEAPON_STATION
StationID=13
StationGroupID=1
StationType=EXTERNAL
AttachmentPosition= 3.07,-2.28,-0.83
AttachmentAngles=0.0,-3.0,0.0
LoadLimit=500
AllowedWeaponClass=IRM
AttachmentType=NATO,FRANCE
SpecificStationCode=MIRAGEIRM
ModelNodeName=outer_pylon_R
PylonMass=25.0
PylonDragArea=0.02

[AIM-9B_RailLeft]
SystemType=WEAPON_STATION
StationID=14
StationGroupID=2
StationType=EXTERNAL
AttachmentPosition=-3.07,-2.28,-0.83
AttachmentAngles=0.0,-3.0,0.0
LoadLimit=25
AllowedWeaponClass=FT
AttachmentType=NATO,FRANCE
ModelNodeName=
PylonMass=5.0
PylonDragArea=0.04
FuelTankName=AERO-3C
NoJettisionTank=TRUE

[AIM-9B_RailRight]
SystemType=WEAPON_STATION
StationID=15
StationGroupID=2
StationType=EXTERNAL
AttachmentPosition= 3.07,-2.28,-0.83
AttachmentAngles=0.0,-3.0,0.0
LoadLimit=25
AllowedWeaponClass=FT
AttachmentType=NATO,FRANCE
ModelNodeName=
PylonMass=5.0
PylonDragArea=0.04
FuelTankName=AERO-3C
NoJettisionTank=TRUE

Are these lines tweaked by the modder? If yes,how restore?

The simply copy and paste don't work and there're still have the tanks issue of the 5D

Yes...I've extracted the inis but there're difference with the pylons ( number,drag mass,ecc).

I can readapt the stock Mirage 5F inis  for the -5D ?

sound like the one in the download section is made from something NOT 3W. Can you post the link? as time permits, I'll take a leak at it.

thanks for the link! that also allows me to 'repair' the broken screenshots for the download. :biggrin:

it looks like Paulo uses the stock Mirage 5D. I'd extract a new data and loadout ini from ObjectData007.cat. AFter looking it over, the 2 outer station don't have any provisions for IRMs. I think that's how the real birds (tm) are. I don't know if the "sidewinder rails" are built into the pylons or not. The LOD Viewer only shows "bomb rack" type attachments, so probably not. Conversely, on the Mirage 3 you can see the "magic_rail" on the outer pylon

But, I'd extract them and see anyway. Although I doubt that if you load the IRM, it'll look 'right"

So mate,the stock bird can be tweaked in order to add the rails for the IRMs?
