I think it is done.

On this day back in 1989 the Bulgarian Air Force received its first and second MiG-29s, which both happened to be MiG-29UB (izd. 9-51A) and received board numbers 01 and 02 respectively. Later board 01 was re-numbered to 11 and was lost in 2011 due to a crash. It was a result of premature rotation and gear retraction on take-off, which caused damage to the centerline drop tank, leakage of fuel and fire. The pilots managed to gain altitude, point the aircraft into a safe direction, where it would not crash into inhabited places and successfully ejected. First touch-down on Bulgarian soil (or should I say tarmac):

Aviations cool and all. but field artillery teaches you how to hustle in my later years was doing stuff like trading SEABees tubs of Baskin Robbins ice cream for an 8 foot gazebo in Afghanistan. deployments, experiences may vary. pogey bait? thats cute damn if there was always abunch of these bad boys left after every field problem. and never saw a one turned in to the DFAC or TISA (the food warehouse) like the rest of the excess rations........... GKABS, at least in my time (which only wrapped up a few years ago) in you couldnt throw a rock without hitting a couple of these. 3 on every MKT (field kitchen) and most command sections (like would be using your track) had a dozen, along with better folding tables like you get at a store. i used them more for hand wash stations (with the same type juice jug as the coffee was in), but you usually didnt have to look to hard to find one. dimensions were around 2ft wide, 4 ft long and maybe 3 3/4 ft tall (0.6096 x 1.2192 x 1.143 meters according to google) as to juice jug dimensions, off of memory i could fit at least two under that table with 6 to 8 inches to spare in back. three on top scrunched together. better measurements than that and id have to google a GSA catalog. shapes pretty spot on, need two grooves on each side if you want to be perfect (the latches fit in the grooves, keeps em from breaking while being transported on thier sides). but id be shocked if folks looked that close. and your choice of green, brown or tan for colors. officers tagged to do inventories preferred them to be grouped by color, we grouped by which ones were serviceable, which got stripped for parts and which were absolute junk but still on the books. unless we only had one MKT, pretty much all our gear was sorted like that (the best trailer, second best, then the ones with a whole bunch of stuff on order) im both laughing and happy, getting some 92 Golf (Army cook) toys in game. even if its just a juice jug in a flight sim

Dohh, Spiv! (Personal Journal & Log) 03December 1917-- Intercept enemy, our sector FF8303...Early pre-dawn brief 'brief'. I found my right hand shaking slightly as we were given our coordinates...must be the cold weather. Forecast for snow and heavy cloud. We'll be lucky to see anything in the soup up there. We took off at 0700h, just 'B' Flight since 'A' had suffered a mauling late yesterday. I hate helping to clean up someones gear. I borrowed Spiv's pilfered motorbike and went into see Dorothy last evening. We talked about our upcoming leaves, trying to coordinate. London at Christmas would be nice. Bugger, I'm finding keeping the journal difficult...my thoughts are all over the map. Again as we flew over No Man's land the searchlights flicked their fingers around. The ack-ack that came up exploded pretty harmlessly below us. Then the nightmare...Naps got lit up like a Christmas Tree, then the same happened to me. Evasive action. Through the gaps in the thick clouds those bloody lights had found us and warned the enemy. It was a large flight of Albatrosses and they hit us hard. I almost got one but he was a slippery character. Tud's got his first-- that surprised me given how long he's survived in 40RFC-- I just assumed he never talked about his victories. After a short and violent scrap, the five of us managed to repel them despite their superior numbers. I'm thinking they had a lot of fresh out of school pilots. I think I'll go ahead and put in for some leave. Oh look now I've made a mess of the last line...this shaking hand is making me doolally. 04December 1917-- Attack enemy aerodrome at Haubourdin (The Reprise!). The hats must have thought the enemy aerodrome need more destruction of their tents. We took off smartly, formed up and promptly ended up all higgledy-piggledy near the target. The bloody snow and clouds...I wasn't even sure we were attacking the right aerodrome. I had taken a couple of coopers with me and dropped them on the grass where the enemy would taxi. There were no aeroplanes parked. We shot up more tents, I put a few rounds into a truck and parked staff car. The ground fire was heavy as usual, but the aerodromes ack-ack was, thankfully, lacklustre. I got lost on the way home and landed near the port of Dieppe. I managed to get a message to Dorothy that I would be really late getting back and not to worry. She called me a bloody idiot and burst into tears. I better see if I can buy her a bit of chocolate somewhere...

The ranks are thinning. It's up to you and a few others now Balders. Carry on the good fight chaps and punch those ruddy huns in the bally nose! You can keep it. I have no use for it no more. She leaks oil. A lot. British engineering. I think she likes you. Although one can never tell really ....

So here's one that worked better, although I don't know why: Novice level gunner? Luckily wounded him on the first pass? Was in the sweet spot where he decided blowing his own tail off was more of a threat than me? Needs more research...

Aviation living it up lol. I had coffee a few times in the field but not often I drank it, and I did have pogey bait but probably not as much as Viggen.

Just a brief update to this thread that the links to Xjouve's terrain meshes, water mods., land cover mods., global layer mods., etc. (that are compatible with WOFF UE/PE/also BH2), and originally available under the WOFF threads on SimHQ, are no longer functioning. Xjouve seems to have disappeared from WOFF modding and those links have likely expired in the meantime - I hope he's doing well. EDIT: Xjouve updated the broken links earlier this year, 2022, so recommended is to double-check relevant links occasionally on the SimHQ WoFF threads for continued functioning of said links. These little details on the ground objects are great! A coffee dispenser, who'd have thought?! I'm sure the platoon sergeants will be huddled around it. Plus it's cool to hear the insight and suggestions from daddyairplanes and EricJ. I was in the Army as well, but Aviation doesn't have any of these vehicles. And our field exercises were normally spent relaxing in a GP Medium eating whatever we brought along

I still have a bash with these superb air combat sims. I just love my heavily modded Wings over Vietnam with all the trees and clouds etc. But I have just upgraded to Win 10 and get the damn thing to run smooth. Oh well, Strike Fighters Vietnam it is then.

well, its CenUS folder and MidWest USA. plugged straight in from a copy of the mod folders on the semi retired laptop. was unaware of any other Midwest terrain. but presuming its yours, and if you ever retool it, the city is so damn close to Midway when i flew out in April i could see faces in cars going by . iirc, couple years back there was an accident where an airliner overran the runway, through a wall and into traffic! mandatory screenie
