don't mix up things - Lighthouse is a LOD with moving parts (like flags and other objects), e.g. programmed into the LOD/3D object - Emitters would be nice and can be done (just an effect without further 'actions' attached to it), e.g. purely visual - Random explosions are not 'random' per se. On the italian map these are two barracks close together with a specific explosion/destruction effect AND inside these two barack objects is a machine-gun firing at the aircraft flying above...the bullets hit the barracks in the first place and destroys them...thus creating an explosion (old IL2 trick)

In this package you find the current versions of my programs. Since all programs are using the same Qt and Microsoft Visual Studio libraries I thought it is convenient to put them all together. This package contains currently: LOD Viewer V0.5.2 Target Area Editor V0.2.2 (Updated) CAT Extractor V0.1.0 (NEW!) For usage instructions of the programs please read the readme files located in the Readme folder.

I don't know if this would be possible, but could an artillery piece be turned into a simple effects emitter? I'll look in the knowledge base to see if there's any information on effects emitters, since effects can be tied to objects, or course. I would need two emitters. The artillery battery emitter, and the artillery barrage emitter, which would have to be timed to work together. If we can't have artillery that can fire beyond line of sight, why couldn't we have the illusion of that? I was flying over Wrench's Korea yesterday, and watching the lighthouses in the distance gave me the idea.

The Volvo is a good choice, they have the best safety measures than most manufactures... in the good old days you couldn't destroy a Volvo

I was working on this a couple of months ago. I used a destroyed truck .LOD as the main object set as Artillery. I changed the accuracy of the gun so it would fire all over the place at short range to stay within "No-Mans-Land". I placed infantry objects all around certain areas so the new "Artillery" would have something to shoot at. It does work but for some reason only sometimes. I would fly over an area and could see random artillery explosions. The problem is the new artillery object seemed to be firing on the nearest AAA objects. Not the infantry I placed around. And most missions there wouldn't be any action at all. Cant figure out why since the artillery object and infantry are permanently on the map for every mission. Also I removed the gun fire and sound from the new Destroyed Truck .LOD object. So all you hear or see is the secondary explosions. It is very cool to see. looks as if there is a battle down below. I placed several new artillery objects around so there would be a lot more explosions. they never hit anything. Which is good. I have been able to work on it any further. Too busy lately. But it does work.

lack of collision meshes on TOD objects, would be my guess. None of them are "really there" on any map in any of the games. as to the lighthouse, I know Stary built the "beam" as a self illuminating tga,

OK - thanks Steven. OK, I'll put it in the stack of "stuff to do - someday."

I sent Stephen 1918 a personal message last year asking if he would consider making the streamlined Roland CII 'walfisch' and he got back to me saying it was on his list to do but he couldn't commit to a date because he was so busy with other requests and projects. I felt a bit guilty because I realized that I was adding to his workload and putting more pressure on him - and if he reads this post then I apologize for that. Maybee you Geezer could lighten his workload a little bit and help him out by taking it on.

This will allow you to attack Airfields, Fuel Tanks, Evil Comm Buildings, and many other land targets in game assigned Strike missions. The Mod uses JSGME to allow an easy, (almost) one click change between land and naval targetting. JSGME also ensures that if you don't like the Mod, you can easily restore your install to it's original condition. I've only tested this in single missions; I don't think you'll fufill the Campaign Victory Conditions with this installed (you'll never even see the Kiev, much less sink it). To anyone who already knows the trick cheers, you don't need this, anyone else, thank snapper 21 for the original idea. SupGen 5/6/2013

If you are looking for a cheap reliable car with no frills and costs very little to run, I can recommend the SUZUKI ALTO (new shape). I can't believe how cheap it is to run, it's only got a 3 cylinder engine and is just shy of 1000 cc, and if you live in the UK you don't pay any Car Tax on it. I guess it depends what you are looking for. My friends laughed at me when I bought it, but they are paying a fortune in Car Insurance, Petrol and Car Tax in the UK for their vehicles.

tbh, if we're talking realistically here, I'd probably get me (or even my family) one of these: Should be good enough to traverse through flooded roads here in the Philippines. Now if we're talkin' dream cars that you'll never get to afford/obtain in your lifetime, on the other hand...

Hi, Quack. I was thinking of avoiding "real" artillery in this mod. I used real guns and infantry in my ancient Active Battlefield mod. It was a grind to get them all placed to see each other, and when I did they often had all destroyed each other before I got there on a mission. So, I armored them and made them extraordinarily bad shots. They would survive, but that created a new problem. The game tracks every shot, so your event log would wind up two miles long, and full of "77mm dummy fired at Stationary Brit Inf," over and over again. After I finish the ini call outs for Geezer's fortifications, I'm going to try to learn how to do this. I want to create two objects using "borrowed" LODs. One, artillery that can be placed using Mue's editor, and the other, the target, using the destroyed LODs from the original terrains mixed with maybe your smoking craters, which, again, can be placed using Mue's Target Editor. This way we can have the guns a few miles away from what they're shelling. Flying over, you'd be able to see both ends of a medium range barrage. That's the idea I'm going for. The only issue I can foresee using borrowed artillery is that all the models were created as direct line of sight weapons, so their barrels are at a low angle, rather than at a high angle, as if they're firing at targets a few miles away. Still, I think it's better than the empty brown swath we have as a front now. Another idea was to have a sniper emitter, an emitter that would be placed directly on TK's painted trench lines that would give off the flash of a sniper rifle intermittently, which would be one thing you'd see on most days as you flew over the front. On most days, everyone kept their heads down, except for the unlucky few, that's what this emitter would simulate.

  20. 1 point
You don't need to extract them to view them, if what you are after is indeed just an asset viewer, Mue's tools work for FE too, last time I checked : However, if you are after real extraction to modify the models, then you'll get no help from this part of the community; it's possible, the tools exist somewhere, but it opens the gate to people stealing other people's hard work and is frowned upon around here.

All good food for thought and yes my needs will dictate decision. Kids, gotta haul them little buggers around safely since I can't strap them to the roof rack. I like toys, speed, and minimal carbon footprint. I'm really leaning toward a Tesla S Model but I'm having a hard time convincing myself I need the price. I've looked at most higher end sedans and crossovers and I really enjoyed the Lincoln MKT, again a bit pricey but it literally had everything I want (minus the self drive of Tesla) thing with the Lincoln is that it doesn't hold a residual value very well. MB S series, BMW 5 series, and Audi A7/S7 also nice contenders. I have to admit I have not looked at the Volvo so that's a great suggestion that I'll go do. If I could get a Tesla X with Toyota's hydrogen fusion engine this would not be up for debate. Until then I'm half slung on the proverbial commode. Wait or pull the trigger. Check the man card or get a sleeper. Side note the new Cadillac CT6 is pretty tasty but the Cadillac holds a worse residual than the Lincoln. Insurance isn't that big of deal. I routinely switch between Amica, Liberty Mutual, and State Farm to get on their lowest rates and save tons of money for great policies. I'm all over the Aventador if they'll make a sedan version.

Yes, that is a nice idea. Please send me these airfield icons and I will try to get that working. The only difficulty is that I do have a bitmap rotation procedure in TFDtool, as to rotate the stock airport map overlays, but it gives a rather pixelated result. Instead of making some tricky weighed rotation, I want to paste these icons on a higher resolution internal planningmap (4096x4096) and then downscale that one weighed. That is actually how it works since this week already, so it should be a straightforward task.

Volvo S60. But if I was gonna tell you my real suggestion: Porsche 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS with rear seat reinstallation.

Hopefully my day job as an automotive market analyst can finally come in useful... 1. Which bodystyle do you prefer? Sedan? Coupe? Cabriolet? SUV? Crossover? Shooting Brake? Hatchback? 2. Premium / non premium brand price point? 3. Buying outright? PCP? PCH? Lease? Bank Loan? If so, what's your monthly Total Cost of Ownership budget? 4. Powertrain / fuel type? Diesel / Petrol / Plug-in Hybrid / Mild Hybrid / Battery Electric? 5. Any specific features? Panoramic roof / Connectivity (remote start, Apple Carplay etc) / Advanced driver assistance (lane keep etc)?

I'm driving a Ford focus 2015. Its okay *for me* If you're a tall dude I'd recommend something else. My primary concerns with my vehicle was insurance payments. Interestingly enough my driving is so good that even with a Mustang my insurance is extremely cheap when compared to others. I've a had a few weird problems that were a result from someone doing the recall maintenance wrong. But nothing major. And make for damn sure your new vehicle is either a standard transmission or full on automatic transmission. The mechanics, and manual, state, now get this, I do not have an automatic transmission. I have a transmission that shifts automatically. I can select a mode and manually shift gears if I want to. The engine sounds like it needs an oil change all the damn time the way it's designed because it doesn't have all of the other components a "true" automatic transmission has. True story. When I hunting around for an affordable car I would call my insurance give them a VIN to a car that I was thinking about buying and she would tell me what my insurance rates would be. So just for some fun. I gave her the VIN to a 2014 Lamborghini Guirado. And she very calmly and professional said my insurance would be this stupid amount of money. For arguments sake 3-4K. I just remember it was the collision that was made the price that high. Everything else wasn't that bad really.
