Exactly. And the TextureSet.ini in the skin's folder has priority. Any change applied to this ini is added to the youraircraftxyz.ini with the next game start. Not the other way around.

When the game starts, it reads the one in the skin folder, and adds it to the one in the aircraft folder. Before this, you had to manually edit the one in the aircraft folder, each time you installed a new skin. The way it currently is, allows us to do a drag and drop install of a new skin.

Hunting down Yefrem Gordon's book the Yaks (25,26,27,28) would be a good starting place. I know that Aerofax is (either) the printer or publisher. the intenet (and favorite search engine) is your friend

There was an electronic warfare version of Yak-28, the Yak-28PP deppoyed in 1970. According to wikipedia it was the first ECM soviet aircraft. It would be interesting if someone knew operational history of this specific variant outside USSR. I guess it must be operated by soviet forces in DDR in the 70s.

Why are there textureset definitions in two places: one in the <aircraft>.ini file and the other in the textureset.ini file (within the texture sub folder). It seems both contain the same information. And if the content differ, which one has priority?

After checking my downloads and cross-referencing to the always excellent gonavy.jp site I realized that we have all of the skins for CVW-5's fixed wing aircraft, so let's take them for a cruise in the idyllic South China Sea..... VFA-102 Diamondback (FA-18F - Modex 1xx) VFA-27 Royal Maces (FA-18E - Modex 2xx) VFA-115 Eagles (FA-18E - Modex 3xx) VFA-195 Dambusters (FA-18E - Modex 4xx) VAQ-136 Gauntlets (EA-6B - Modex 5xx) VAW-115 Liberty Bells (E-2C - Modex 6xx) The launch and recovery cycles continue constantly... To be continued...

In late 1990, aircrews were dispatched to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia to perform practice missions with the use of ALARMs Real I use a Sim to simulate the Real aircrews who simulated real attack missions.. My salute to the aircrews for their service! (btw, I like this ALARM initial operational config. because it looks like some swords were carried by the Tornados!)
