This is the newest version of the LODViewer. New features: -decal support -display of collision and pivot points -added transparency and wireframe display mode -user definable background color -view manipulation via keyboard -64 bit application -uses the OpenSceneGraph library and Qt 5.9.5 Install instructions: Extract the content of the zip package to a convenient location. The LODViewer depends on the Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 C++ libraries. If not already installed on the computer (e.g. by other applications) it has to be installed by running vcredist_x64.exe (you can find it in the redist subfolder of this package). Have fun! View File LODViewer This is the newest version of the LODViewer. Changelog: Version 0.6.2 -corrected reading of ANSI files with non-ASCII characters -caseinsensitive handling of node names (e.g. for showing collision, pivot points or bounding boxes of selected nodes) -disabled mip maps. I hope this resolves the performance issues with hires (4K and above) textures. If not you can use the new option Settings->Display->"Limit Texture Resolution" to limit the (internal) texture resolution. Version 0.6.1 -added decal texture file loading fallback: If numbered texture file is not found, it’ll then look for unnumbered file. -added option for using vertex buffer objects (Extra->Settings->Display->Use Vertex Buffer Objects) Maybe "Use Vertex Buffer Objects" helps with the performance problem some users have experienced with Version 0.6.0. Beware! Enabling this option while simultaneously "Write OSG log file" is enabled, writes A LOT to osg_logfile.txt. -bugfix: "Write Info File" didn't work in Version 0.6.0 -bugfix: Couldn't save UV Mapping as jpg file Version 0.6.0 -decal support -display of collision and pivot points -added transparency and wireframe display mode -user definable background color -view manipulation via keyboard -64 bit application -uses the OpenSceneGraph library and Qt 5.9.5 Install instructions: Extract the content of the zip package to a convenient location. The LODViewer depends on the Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 C++ libraries. If not already installed on the computer (e.g. by other applications) it has to be installed by running vcredist_x64.exe (you can find it in the redist subfolder of this package). Have fun! Hm, I've seen his videos, (in fact they're what got me interested in FA again) and his setup did seem to run perfectly. Any ideas about how I would get in touch with him?

Cool! Someone will be very happy... Although some guys here might totally stop playing the game... Thanks! Have you considered an option where you could merge two or more lod files in one scene? useful at weapon positioning, fake piloting etc...

Menrva (iirc) made me a backwards facing pilot (navigator) for the A-3B (that never got finished. Let me see if I can reskin him and it "works". He did it via hex editing (I have NO idea how!), and I hope that I don't screw up what he did when I go into the LOD and rename the skin maps. I'll get back to you in a few days, bro.

Calling the FM guru modders; we need help to fix the flight model on the new F-22; there are some issues with it, and it would be a pity if it flies bad, while it looks extremely good! Solved, help received from expert FM modder! @Crusader Your avionics mod will be included with due credits: https://combatace.com/files/file/15086-sf2_f-22a_new_avionics_10/ Since you say it's not fully finished and you would have liked to complete it one day, I guess now it's the perfect time

I used spray cans, not an airbrush system so I had to use the available paint and no shading, but i still like it ok.

Guess the answer is - not yet. I've made only new 2048 BM and higher resolution skin for Fuel tank for stock F-4.

These tweaks are specifically for SF2, as is my Cold War prop package that was done about a month ago - I've also tried running a few of the WW2 types in FE2 but the results were inaccurate (the Corsair F4U-5 for example has a realistic top speed in the 760s kph in SF2, but when dumped into FE2 it jumps into the 880s kph - so I don't recommend transplanting data inis across FE2 and SF2 - better to tweak things separately for the two sims).... Apart from the Corsair and one or two other types, I haven't tried running any of the other SF2 aircraft in FE2, the Corsair showed up just fine but the FM modelling is way off when I run it in FE2....I think air density among other things is modelled to be "thinner" in FE2...possibly something TK did for more accurate WW1 biplane behavior...this would explain the difference in top speeds across the two sims....also the fact that I usually need to use higher-than-historical hp ratings in SF2 for the prop types to get fairly historical climb rates...in FE2, even when using estimates, the hp ratings end up fairly close to historical values, and sometimes require even a bit of down-tuning so that climb rates aren't too good/inaccurate. Some of the 1930s biplanes that Geezer and Baffmeister were working on were done specifically for FE2 I think, and then eventually re-tweaked for SF2 - on the other hand "backporting" stuff from SF2 into FE2 may not be as easy. Obligatory screenies below, Aircobra and Tomahawk in the pto theater - SF2 is thoroughly satisfying for my occasional WW2 interests, much better than that CFS3 stuff I tried years ago. Von S

More progress shots....the A-Team A5M4 data ini converted to an A5M1 for early-war PTO scenarios, and a rare high-alt Me109 E7-N (conversion of the A-Team E8), a small no. of which apparently were Japanese flown...should also be good for 1941 scenarios at least. Also tweaked is the Yak-1b (downtuned to the 1a, first batch of Yaks)...I think I got hit by shrapnel from the second fellow since my engine conked out...oh well, was able to dead stick it successfully. Now onto the Curtiss P-40 and other types. Happy flying, Von S

And just a few more representative pics for this thread - currently tweaking the A-Team Polikarpov (I-16, type 24) into an earlier "type 10" used on occasion by the Republic of China - should be good for late 1930s scenarios using the China and Taiwan maps - will also include real engine sounds with the FM pack whenever possible...the Polikarpov rattle is great fun while flying. SF2 is an unexplored goldmine of WW2 possibilities...never liked any of the WW2 flight sims until I picked up SF2...great stuff gents'. For those wondering about how I get the crisp terrain graphics in the pics, especially at altitude, grab the "ATISetLod" app (if you have an ATI card, for non-ATI there are probably easier ways to set the lod) at the following link (https://community.hwbot.org/topic/137720-benchmark-tweak-software/) and set the LOD bias entry to a value of "-1" while in administrator mode, and save settings (I'm running such a value and have noticed crisper terrains in FE2, SF2, also WOFF and ROF). Q-5 Fantan Series Pak = For SF2, Any and All* = *Note: Full-4 Merged reccomended, but can be used in any game with access to the F-4F Phantom from SF2:E* A new skin/decal pak for the Q/A-5 Fantan series, upgraded for SF2. This package is based off lindr2's work for 1stGen, which in turn is/was based off the Insky release, with some modifications/tweeks/fiddling around and general 'messing with' to bring it more in line with SF2 This is a complete package, of 3 aircraft containing various and sundry cockpits - Remember!!! you must have a Full-4 Merged, or at least acess to SF2:Es BLW F-4F Phantom, as the Q-5II references that cockpit. All other pits are included. Rebuilt data inis use the latest (Nov 2011) MiG-19 FM; while not perfect, work much better than before. A new userlist ini is included, for all models, regardless of A or Q naming. They're still Fantans, no matter what. Some name changes have been implemented by me; what was called the D is more closer to the A, so you have the following aircraft, keeping their PLAAF designation, regardles of export status Q-5A Q-5E (called Q-5D/E/F in the displayed name -they're nearly identical) Q-5II The original skins, of course, are included, as is a NEW Sudan AF for the Q-5E. New serial numbers for the SuAf are 'best guess' based upon the 2 photos I could find (SuAF shown in the screenie above) of them. New DDS damage textures are included, but they don't work as advertised. It's your choice to use them or not (turns the aircraft black for some reason -probably a mapping issue) A 'home grown' template for A/D/E/F series is included for skinner. PLAFF weapons, for the most part, are included, as are the pilots & ejection seats. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them! As well as the "Notes" section Any/All faults, mistakes, etc are mine & mine alone. Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein
