I'm a core contributor to FlightGear, responsible for the the F-15, F-14 in FlightGear, have made aero models for the Mirage2000, Tornado F2, SupermarineSwift and a member of OPRF (opredflag) which is the biggest FlightGear military community. OPRF aircraft can damage each other, we have automated enemy aircraft, SAMS and we have work in progress that will hopefully one day allow a full combat scenario. I've also got experience building computational aerodynamics models for FG using the excellent OpenVSP http://chateau-logic.com/content/using-vspaero-generate-aerodynamic-model-jsbsim-flightgear and https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=30832 http://zaretto.com/f-14 http://zaretto.com/f-15 http://zaretto.com/a320 http://zaretto.com/Panavia-Tornado https://github.com/Zaretto/fg-aircraft https://github.com/Zaretto/Supermarine-Swift https://github.com/Zaretto/Aircraft/tree/master/Mirage-2000 http://chateau-logic.com/content/emesary-nasal-implementation-flightgear http://chateau-logic.com/content/deferred-rendering-rembrandt-performance http://chateau-logic.com/content/flightgear-using-canvas-3d-instrument I'm posting here to state my interest in assisting with anything FlightGear military related; and I can also provide assistance on "how things work" In FG.

Some Colorful Clunks inbound soon, for North American installs. I'm going to upload the CF-100 MK-4A first. It had the lower thrust Orenda 9 and is a bit of a cow so will phase it out about a year after the introduction of the MK-4B. I figure they would have upgraded the engines on the 4A's during any heavy maintenance checks. Skin credits to Frenchie1977! Somewhere over the Great White North. [the American part]

Back to our reality... Here's another skin I have made, it's based on a real temporary scheme. It took me more than expected to paint that blue nose on this mapping of the 3d model, as well as to make that decal. I think it's worth as a bonus skin for the upcoming Raptor opera omnia we're working on.

Mainly to motivate myself, I made an initial test regarding using 3D assets from SF2 in the open source flight simulator FlightGear. Since FlightGear uses the same 3D graphics library (OpenSceneGraph) that I also use in the LODViewer, I could easily reuse my LOD file loader plugin with only minor modification. This is only an initial test. There are still a lot things to do regarding 3D models: animations, shader adaption, .... not to mention reimplementing the SF2 FDM in FlightGear. But maybe some day... TWs P-51D at Honolulu International (the current FlightGear default airport). Note the missing landing gear caused by nonworking animations: Cockpit view:

Thanks Stratos. So, can I bother you when that happens? I don't want to stress you guys over such things.

My AK is nothing special. It's a Century Arms C39V2 with the full Magpul furniture set and a Primary Arms red-dot on the proprietary Century Arms side mount. Given the checkered past of this brand and model, I check it regularly for head space issues with a set of go-no-go gauges, and keep a close eye on BCG and receiver wear. So far (approximately 1500 rounds in), so good. It's proven accurate and reliable so far. Here it is with my Mini-14..

Yes it will have Hellfires, a gun pod and a rocket pod I believe.

Well here's a first look at them as I can't think of anything else to do. VMFA-225 can be found under VMFA (AW)-225 2019, and the VMFA-232 Red Tail can be found under VMFA-232 'Red Devils' CO VMFA225Ver2.7z VMFA-232_Red_Tail.7z

Mod package has been updated to Version 1.1; minor changes + a fix for another bug existing in the stock SF2 game.

Thank you. File uploaded, pending approval. And something completely different: USAS S.E.5a The 25th AS was the only American fighter squadron equipped with the S.E.5a. They did not see much combat, as the squadron flew only two uneventful patrol missions before the hostilities ended.

Soviet Green I-15 This skin is for the Polikarpov I-15 made by Stephen1918. I took the original texture that came with the plane and added a few details, some weathering, as well as the Soviet red stars. Installation: Drop the 'SovietGreen1' folder in the 'PolikarpovI15' folder. It can be used both in FE & FE2. Credits go to Stephen1918 for the I-15 and the original green skin. Freeware use only. Thank you.

Started with the Red Tail VMFA-232 CO bird. The W on the right side is off, as the tail area is too small but otherwise correct I guess.

Minor update: -Creation of a generic prop taildragger flight model. It really doesn't resemble a P-51D! -Animation of (primary) control surfaces -Animation of gauges (although some gauges need some tuning) -Animation of the propeller Test flight video: This can be achieved *without* patching FlightGear. I only had to add the LOD file loader plugin DLL to the plugin directory. However for the planned support of the LOD keyframe animations (landing gear, ...), FlightGear must be patched. If anyone wants to know, how the configuration files in FlightGear look like: p-51d-model.xml contains the control surface and propeller animations. In SF2 that data is in the <aircraft>_data.ini. vc.xml contains the gauge animations. In SF2 that data is in the <aircraft>_cockpit.ini. My todo list for the SF2-FG project: -Re-creation of the SF2 systems and flight model -Support of keyframe animations -Gunsight -Weapons -Decal support -Normal and specular map support

given all the effort i put into Buffs recently (and plans for Bones and Switchblades) it would be cool to take off from KI Sawyer or Pease and fly all the way to Russia watching with some interest

The F4 and the F5 were both in the running but the F5 won out at the time. I probably would have given the "What If F-4" the CF116 designation.

I will not repeat myself again; Dhimar and Paran do NOT exist in the original _nations.ini from SF2. Dhimar and Paran are created in the desert_nations.ini file, in fact they are not flyable, they are AI only. AI planes are using the correct decals on my install, as long as you have not edited the original desert_nations.ini file from SF2. I have not changed anything to Paran or Dhimar, so this is not my issue. You must be doing something wrong with your installation, because eveything works fine on my end. You must install all that is included, not just the Flight folder, but also the Menu and Objects folder. If you're using modded terrains and/or other files, there's nothing I can do. My mod is simple, unzip and play it. It has no bugs on a clean SF2 installation. EDIT: if you do not believe me, here's the screenshots. The planes are using my hires decals. If you're using a modded Desert terrain, it's your issue, not mine. Attached here the stock desert_nations.ini file extracted from the SF2 game, this is how it has to be: DESERT_NATIONS.INI I will not provide more help than this. Your issues are due to your custom mod folder. Nobody else has reported such a bug to me, and I cannot replicate it with my own, clean mod folder. For over 100 users, this mod seems to be fine.
