    I was looking for my old files and found FV601 Saladin one of the first models that I made a long time ago using 3d max 3. but what happened after that, is I stopped modeling until last year when I found this forum, and that made me start to model from the beginning as everything was new to me again. So I think I need to add this to my do list to remodel it.

    Ojcar recommended this late-war German fighter/ground attack plane. It has a 160hp water cooled 6 cylinder engine capable of speeds up to 165 kph. It carries a synchronized Spandau in the fuselage and has a Parabellum on a ring mount for the observer. There is a rack of 10 stick grenades on the port side - the grenades will drop one by one. This is about half done, I'm hoping to be finished by Christmas. The real world is keeping me busy, but I'm hoping...

    There is nothing better than meeting and conversing with people that lived through major historical events. We are losing so many so fast from WW2 to through Vietnam. The saddest part of watching the WW2 generation fade away is knowing that their history is slowly but surely being forgotten by the majority of people who simply don't care about history.

    After several tests with add on and native game planes I think there is effectively a problem with the "PIT1". I succeed with my taxi starts if I don't cross the red line and I follow the green one.......

    Well in that case there's no reason not to fix your other planes which have R/S issues. I think players do care, after all modding has always been about trying to improve EAW, especially it's plane models. It's why Col. Gibbon's planes caught everyone's attention in the first place, perhaps it's just you who doesn't care anymore. VonBeerhofen

    Well brand new install and it seems to work fine now. I don't know what happened maybe a gremlins somewhere in my SF2. Thank you for your help

    are the pathways correct? did they work before installing the SF2 Complete (ie: in your original installs?) Check the MAXLod= line is present (I've seen that one before!)

    Yes, the two parachutes (white and green) from the old EzMoneeStevens package available here on CombatAce are located deep inside my ver. 9.7 FM pack (somewhere in the 9.5 folders) - but I will simplify the ver. 9.9 update, updating everything to ver. 9.7 in a separate folder, and will dig the parachute files out and include them in the ver. 9.9 folder, for simplicity. Have further simplified some things so that the balloon explosion file will be an update only to the ini file that includes the parachute, since observation balloon occupants were using parachutes consistently since the summer of 1915 already, perhaps even earlier irregularly. The different environsys ini files with different cloud patterns and heights will now all be tweaks of the variant that includes very light wind with occasional light gusts - this is the most realistic variant for FE/FE2 since it provides for subtle (realistic) cloud movement, and on occasion gives dynamic smoke/fire effects. Owing to the way wind/environment is modelled in FE2 - the moderate and strong wind variants do not look as realistic as light wind with occasional gusts. (I will however leave the old variants of the environsys files in place, in the ver. 9.7 folder of the FM pack - for those who like to rummage through the older files.) Currently tweaking the data ini further for the Pfalz Parasol, in dogfights with the MS type N (yes, technically the Bullet was not available in the Italian front but I like to dismantle it and carry it to most early war fronts in FE2 anyway ).     Converting is quite easy...hard bit is redoing all the meshes ...relinking animating etc.. heres How I convert an imported 3ds or FBX or OBJ which is converted from say the .AC format...into 3ds max 1,I make sure the object is correct scale 1st...usually they are...KA50 was...BUT you need check that when imported the 3d it uses the models scale... 2,then I weld vertices usually using a small scale to make sure that vertices on small meshes arent all mixed up,and are welded correctly.. usually in 3ds or OBJ imoprting leaves modes meshes in areas of seperate meshes even single polygons...Ive had some where every single poly seperated.. PIC1 3, then I seperate the meshes...if importing 3ds I usually edit as poly and remove any extra edges added by the importer.....3ds etc tends to add diagonals to a poly...which on some curved areas causes the mesh to look ragged. PIC2 4 thats really the hardest part,then its a matter of animating,linking and exporting really PS I find FBX for max or flight studio \openflight . FLT importer tends to leave meshes as they were originally...

    SF2 Northrup F-89 Scorpion Remod Pack (V.3) 5/25/2019 *For SF2, Any & All (Full 5 Merged Prefered)* This is a repackaging, and MAJOR update of the F-89 Scorpion series of 1950s USAF All-Weather Interceptors. There have been many changes to the various inis, skins/decals, weapons, and whatnots. This is to be considered to be "Version 3", and hopefully the final time the F-89 gets a revamp (unless new models magically appear). This package builds on and improves from the v2 pack dated 3/3/2016. It also replaces that mod completely. This package contains ALL the various marks of the Scorpion, including those later variants built from/modded of Monty's original C & D model LODs. There are several new skins, marked with the star (*) You have herein: F-89C: 57th FIS, (Keflavik, Iceland) 74th FIS, 23rd FIW (Thule AFB, Greenland) F-89D: 75th FIS (Presque Isle AFB, Maine 1955) 84th FIS (Hamilton AFB 1955-59) 64th FIS (Alaska Air Command) 321st FIS, (Paine AFB, WA 1954)* F-89H: 321st FIS, (Paine AFB, WA 1956)* 75th FIS (Presque Isle AFB, Maine 1957) F-89J (Early): 321st FIS, (Paine AFB, WA 1958)* 449th FIS (Ladd AFB, Alaska) F-89J (Late) 59th FIS, Goose Bay Labrador (1958-60)* 178th FIS "Happy Hooligans" ND ANG (1958-66) 124th FIS, Iowa ANG (1962-69)* Several versions also have a "Generic USAF Silver" skin, complete with decals. You may notice several squadrons used the Scorpion in several of it's various incarnations. This is historically correct. Due to mesh/node mapping reasons, some marking remain painted on. A large number however, are decals. Serial numbers are 100% correct for the models depicted, but should be considered 'generic' as they don't represent actual aircraft with a given unit. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. Squadron's listed in the stock game's SquadronList.ini have their names activated via my 'fake' SqTail decal. Those will display their proper names on the Loadout Screen's Squadron Selection Window. When possible, the SF2 'date switch' has been used to turn on Air National Guard units as they became equipped with F-89s. On such aircraft that have operating canopies (those that use the F-89D lod), the canopy works via the Standard Manual Animation Keystroke (tm), shift/0. Included also are "Scorpion" specifc weapons (using the "StationSpecifieCode=" statements. Nuke explosion effects are included for the AIR-2 Genie rocket. As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. See "Notes" section for full change log and other important statements. The various other readmes, from all previous versions remain wherever they were originally residing. Good Hunting!
