The original request for the Pearl Harbor National Memorial came from Wrench here: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/94790-3d-object-request/?tab=comments#comment-767482 Today in the United States it is Memorial Day. A time to remember and honor those who have died in service to our great nation. And specific to this request, “The USS Arizona Memorial, at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii, marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors and Marines killed on USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and commemorates the events of that day.” I unexpectedly found some free time, and have been working relentlessly to get my version in a decent condition so I could post an update today. Everything has been scratch built including most of the texture work. It started off as just a quick hull mesh, but as time went on, I felt a sense of honor and patriotism in creating this – and that’s when things evolved. With the state it’s in, dare I say you can even take a fairly convincing virtual walk-through of the memorial – overkill perhaps but I found it extremely gratifying. I’m still making some overall form tweaks and other updates, but am proud to be sharing the latest progress especially today and hope it is a proper tribute.

“Engine 4 is on fire! And I have no rudder control! Let’s put this fire out! Someone head out to the back and see what’s wrong!” “I’m on it!”, you shout, running towards the rear gunner station while you scan the cables. “Damn”, you think “a hole in the fuselage and the cables were cut. That FW-190 did some real damage here”. The good news is: you can fix it. Roll up your sleeves and get to it. Quickly! Did you imagine all this? Well, you won’t just imagine it. You will LIVE it. We are honored to announce to you, our fans, that MicroProse is working on a brand new The Mighty Eight title for Virtual Reality. The Mighty Eighth will be a VR-first project (but also playable with no VR enabled) in which you will be able to play with 9 other friends (or AI crew) as you work together to survive the war and accomplish your missions. Drop those bombs on the right spot, guide your crew through long drawn out day, or the dark, moonless nights, keep your airplane in touch with the rest of the squadron and HQ as you monitor radios and communications. Defend your Flying Fortress by keeping those enemy fighters away from you and your squadron mates. Pilot or co-pilot this beast under a massive amount of stress – and enemy fire, but don’t drop out of formation or you’re a sitting duck. The new Mighty Eighth is not just a game. It’s an experience from a different time where young men grew faster than they should and saw things no man should see. And YOU will be put right in the middle of the action. But wait. There's more. The Mighty Eighth didn’t just use the B-17. They also used the B-24 Liberator! Shouldn’t we be able to fly that bomber as well, then? Well, yes. And you will. The B-24 Liberator will also be added, and you will be able to fly missions in both the legendary bombers, each recreated with meticulous attention to detail. https://www.microprose.com/games/the-mighty-eighth#

Vultee P-66D Vanguard - Royal Dhimari Air Force, 1944 The British dependence on oil from the middle-east, and especially from the Kingdom of Dhimar, during World War 2 made the sporadic Parani attacks on the Mazadran Oil Fields a deep concern to Britain during the summer of 1941. In late September 1941, to support the Dhimari armed forces defending Mazadran and the Al'Samara region, the British Government donated 30 of the 100 Vultee P-66 Vanguard fighter aircraft it had itself inherited from an embargoed Sweden order. Delivered during November 1941 the Dhimari Vanguards were more than a match for the Italian Fiat CR. 42 Falco aircraft that formed the backbone of the Parani Air force but were later outclassed when Germany began to supply Bf 109E-7's to Paran during the Spring of 1942. Heinkel HE-100D1 The Heinkel He 100 was a German pre-World War II fighter aircraft design from Heinkel. Although it proved to be one of the fastest fighter aircraft in the world at the time of its development, the design was not ordered into series production. Approximately 19 prototypes and pre-production examples were built. None are known to have survived the war. aircraft model by Veltro2k: destroyed model by Capun: cockpit by Kesselbrut: FM, decals and texture by Charles unzip ad folders to their appropiate places...have fun

Reworked pack of RF-101A and C VooDoo. Generally old good VooDoo in new dresses. There are big changes in FM model thanks to baffmeister in data.ini files - so Backup your original file. You might not like it. In game you will find new aircrafts under names *RF-101A VooDoo *RF-101C VooDoo '58 *RF-101C VooDoo '66 note that RF-101C '58 uses non-RWR - VooDoo A cockpit. All new skins in 3072x3072 resolution. New bump maps and specular maps. also in 3072.. plus decals to cover A and C models serial numbers. Pack contains several skin sets for both models. With all research, I was trying to be correct as much as possible. RF-101A have also one skin/decal set which contains few decal skin sets to cover experimental camo trials conducted in mid 60s. Regarding colorful aircraft serial numbers: 54-1513 some say it was dark green some that really black. more info goes towards black so I painted it black (like Rolling Stones in 1966) 54-1514 first was painted similar as represented in this pack, then it was repainted with adding some brown colors. 54-1512 green/black camo with added brown during tests. All this skin set with experimental camo trial is quite complicated and hard to put correctly in-game but I hope it will work fine for you. I did not include skin sets for VooDoo operated over Vietnam. This will come in a separate package. Eventually. One day. All new decals consisting of serial numbers for block 20-35 of A version and block 45-75 for C version. Backup your original RF-101 Folders. Also Decals! Credits: Original models ErikGen yakarov - skins / decals / some small ini tweak baffmeister -new flight model. Soulfreak - original skin for an extra thing. Have Fun. May the VooDoo be with you. Grumman Intruder S.1 - No.214 Squadron, RAF Bomber Command, 1966 In 1963, with the Mark 2 versions of the Vulcan and Victor becoming the spearhead of Bomber Command, four Valiant squadrons (49, 148, 207 and 214) were assigned to SACEUR forming a powerful strike wing based at Marham in Norfolk. But during the summer of 1964 fatigue cracks were discovered in the front and rear wing spars of several aircraft and whilst serious consideration was given to a rebuild programme the estimated unit cost of this was close to the original price of a Valiant so a rebuild programme was ruled out. However, when further cracks were discovered the RAF reluctantly grounded the Valiant in December 1964. In January 1965, this lead to Denis Healey (Minister of Defence) declaring that the Valiant situation was "causing considerable embarrassment for us with our NATO allies" and that an interim solution was urgently being sought "to restore our missing strike power and commitment to SACEUR". With US President Lyndon Johnson already critical of Harold Wilson's refusal to commit British troops to Vietnam, Wilson and Healey needed a quick solution and in February 1965 they pulled off a deal with the US Government and the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation to take 60 A-6K Intruder aircraft straight off the Grumman production line at Bethpage. Designated as the Intruder S.1 and finished in anti-flash white the A-6K's were optimised for the nuclear strike role armed with American Mk28 (B-61) free-fall tactical nuclear bombs before switching to the UK WE.177B in late 1966. Entering service with No.214 squadron in June 1965 the RAF's Intruder S.1 force built up at RAF Marham before being transferred to RAF Geilenkirchen during the Spring of the following year.

Gloster Galant FAW.1 - No.92 Squadron, RAF Fighter Command, 1962 During the late summer of 1956 with the English Electric P.1B Lightning programme steadily falling behind schedule, General Alfred Gruenther (the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Air Forces in Europe) expressed his deep concern that it's bases in the UK could not be adequately defended by the "subsonic limeys" so the F-102 Delta Dagger was selected for RAF Fighter Command under the Offshore Procurement Plan with 100 F-102's ordered in November 1956. However with Convair stretched to the max with the F-102, F-106 and B-58 programmes Gloster Aviation were selected to licence build the F-102K as the Gloster Galant FAW.1 with initial deliveries being made to No.19 Squadron and No.92 Squadron at RAF Leconfield in April 1958. Lockheed F-19A 'Sniper' - VMFT-401, United States Marine Corps, 1985 Only during the mid-1980's was it revealed that an unexpected outcome of President Nixon's historic visit to China in 1972 was the purchase of 30 Shenyang J-6 fighters for use as Aggressor aircraft. The aircraft were clandestinely delivered early in 1974 with the US Navy taking 22 aircraft and the US Marine Corps taking the balance of 8 which entered service with VMFT-401 in April 1976. In service, the aircraft were supported by specialist teams from Lockheed and were eventually designated F-19A with the unofficial name of 'Sniper'.
