    Thank you Stephen for the lovely N. 21 - this one will nicely complement the N. 21 in Geezer's beta pack and I will carry over the FM modifications from that one that I did a while ago, when I find time, to your model as well. The good thing about the Ojcar FMs is that they are very tweak-friendly and it doesn't take too much time to bring the specs. up to historical peculiarities. Always nice to see fresh models coming out for FE2. @Crawford, thank you for that info. regarding 110 hp upgrades for the N.21 -- this has got me thinking about a few possibilities now -- maybe I will upgrade Geezer's N.21 to the 110 hp variant (since if I remember correctly some of his sub-variants of the N. 21 carry the Vickers - been a while since I checked but will look into it) --- and I will tweak Stephen's N.21 around a 90 hp or so variant, since it carries the Lewis. Good times ahead in FE2 where the only limit is our imagination, time constraints, and of course the limitations of TK's sim. engine. Cheers all, Von S

    In reality, the N21 was usually used by the French without weapons as a trainer, although individual copies still ended up at the front. The Serbs had quite a lot of them, and the later ones - in fact, remotorized N17s. But the only country where this type was actively used as a combat type was Russia. The low engine power did not allow the use of the heavy Vickers, therefore, as standard armament, various types of machine guns (Lewis, Hotchkiss, possibly Madsen and Colt) were used in an asynchronous version. By the summer of 1917, when the motor hunger for 110HP "Rhones" was overcome, part of the 21s were brought up to the standard of the 17th model during a major overhaul. The engine was changed to a more powerful one and a synchronous Vickers was installed. In some documents, this type is designated as "Nieuport 21bis", outwardly, both variants of the plane could be distinguished from the N17 by an incomplete engine hood, as on the 11th type.

    Based on some discussions in the old TW forums with TK, the 0.2 baseRCSmodifier value for the stock F-16A Netz in the game (note however TK has mistakenly assigned the F-16C baseRCSmodifier value to the F-16A Netz as explained later in this post) and other topics I have read I have come to the following conclusions: 1, The game engine does not correctly calculate an objects RCS. Instead it simulates it by using the size of the aircrafts hit-box as defined by its .lod to decide at what distance an aircraft is detected by a radar after taking into account that radars power etc. 2, The baseRCSmodifier value is a multiplier that reduces the size of the aircrafts hit-box to simulate any RCS reducing measures that aircraft has. This in effect reduces the range the aircraft can be detected on radar. 3, The games hit-box size RCS method is basically accurate for an aircraft with NO RCS reducing technologies as far as the game is concerned. So to work out the baseRCSmodifier value for an aircraft with a reduced RCS, we need to work out what percentage its real world RCS is of its hit-box game decided RCS. Knowen (or educated guess?) of RCS values of aircraft WITH RCS reduction measures: F-5E: 3 m2 F-16C: 1.2 m2 Gripen: 1.0 - 1.2 m2 F-18E: 0.75 m2 Rafale: 0.75 m2 Eurofighter: 0.5-0.75 m2 B-2: 0.01 m2 F-35: 0.01 - 0.005 m2 F-22: 0.01 - 0.001 m2 F-117: 0.001 -? m2 RCS values of aircraft with NO RCS reduction measures: F-16A: 6.0 m2 F-15C: 10.0 m2 To get the hit-box game generated RCS of an aircraft we have to work it out by comparing the physical size of the aircraft with non RCS reduced aircraft we know the RCS of. For size comparison we can use the F-16A 6m² at one end of the scale and the F-15A 10m² at the other. For example I would give the F-18F Super Hornet an estimated hit-box RCS of 9m² based on its physical size. Its real world (reduced) RCS is 0.75m² so the baseRCSmodifier value is 0.75/9= 0.083 BaseRCSmodifier=0.083 This was the same calculation done by TK in a (now gone) third wire forum topic to get the baseRCSmodifier=0.2 value for the F-16C that TK thinks should be used on the F-16A as well. (I say this as the real world F-16C has RCS reducing measures not the F-16A.) And as I said TK has gone on to use that baseRCSmodifier=0.2 figure for the stock F-16A Netz in the game. Same calculation for the F-35: Real world RCS of 0.005m² hit-box RCS of 7m² so 0.005/7=0.00071 baseRCSmodifier=0.00071 F-22: Real world RCS of 0.001m² hit-box RCS of 10m² (as the F-22 is roughly the same physical size as the F-15) 0.001/10=0.0001 baseRCSmodifier=0.0001 The hardest part is deciding where an aircraft fits hit-box RCS size wise. I collect diecast scale model fighter jets so I was able to compare all the aircraft in my examples to each other to decide how they compared size wise and what size their hit-box RCS would be in the game. Knowing the hit-box size of the F-16 equates to a 6m² RCS in the game and the hit-box size of the F-15A equates to a 10m² RCS in the game gives you a pretty good idea and scale to use.

As a result of the need for the Colombian Air Force to have a gunship helicopter as a means of deterrence against external enemies, the Arpía is essentially a UH-60L to which more equipment and weapons have been added both internally and externally.Currently, the Colombian Air Force has 12 aircraft. The Helicopter can fire Spike NLOS an Spike LR ATGM missiles, both in the inventory of the FAC, GAU-19 12.7 mm gatling guns, 70mm rocket pods.     The old chinese strategos Sun Zu said, you must try to understand your enemy if you want to get the best for yourself. Lets try to look with iranian eyes. Iran is in a weak situation. It has no powerfull allies. Hizballah and Assad are not counting, they are mor a burden than helpfull. Russia is not really an ally. In Syria the Russians play their own game, with the aim to hold and secure their only naval and air base at the Mediterranaen Sea. In the Gulf area the russians ar no existent and their only base south of the arab peninsula (Socotra) they gave up 30 years ago. With other words, Iran is alone. And it is surrounded by nuclear powers. There are the Russians in the north, Pakistan and India in the East, Israel in the West and the US Navy in the Gulf. So the Iranians feel encircled and under siege. What they need is a powerfull deterrence. And this can only be the nuclear weapon. They have learned, that the possetion of nuclear weapons makes unassailable. Without nuclear weapons they fear a western, suni, israeli or whatever attempt of regime change, or worse a military invasion. Examples are the so called Arabellion and the annihilation of Ghadaffys Libyan regime by french and british forces. The example for inviolability is North Korea. The fat boy of NK can do what he want, nobody will not touch his regime, because all fear the nuclear detterence. The aim of Iran is to get the same safety level as North Korea. Thatswhy they want the bomb. Not to use them, but for deterrence. (May some iranian hardliners cry bullshit about erase of Israel, they know for sure, that a nuclear strike against the jewish state will be answered by a massive retailiation and afterward you can swim from the Gulf to the Caspian Sea. Iranians may have a martyr cult, but they are not willing to suicide their whole people.) The economic situation of Iran is bad. There are no powerfull and monetary resources for a longer war. So on the short Iran is only able to stir up trouble on secondary theatres of war. The same strategy the British used between 1940 and mid 1944 in WW2 against Germany.
