GKABs D-30 with "eastern uniformed" troops D-30s spoted by A-4 Skyhawk at Socotra Island Little tank fire exchange at Socotra. The Dushkas of the T-54 are a little bit overrated. Tank plinking is not such a fun anymore.

Was looking at this pic by Dunois with SF2 planes and WT terrain, and I believe we can get a lot better terrain representation once Mue release his tool, trees flanking rural roads, more trees on forests, better city representations! Can't wait.

I have been testing this out as a short range option on the F-4 with some fairly good results. However I have never seen it deployed on anything other than helicopters and drones IRL. Does anyone know if this concept has been tested in the real world? Opinions on real world practicality as a short range option for fast movers without guns welcome.

in that pic, life is good..... but yes it could be better and in a shameless plug, someone needs to get the KC-135 skinpack number 2. proper SAC/Wing badges and no tail checkerboard like it was back then.......

Alternative sound file by AvHistory and suggested by Wrench can be found here : Alternative cockpit by Stary and suggested by Coupi can be found here : But I recommend to use the cockpit already in the pack because it has been navalized : tail hook light and speed indicator in knots. Seafire Mk3 versions have the compass set to work with the waypoints.

i believe it has been tested on light CAS birds (like the A-29) would not do well for fast jet combat, limited size of missile equals limited rocket burn time and limited range/ manuvering to engage other fast jet. too small warhead against most bombers too buuuttt.... on those light CAS birds it would do well against other similar aircraft, helos and for light intercepts (Cessnas, Beech etc)

I haven't seen anything on planes, mainly helos (Apache comes to mind) that's it.

Default skin for stock Albatros D.Vs. I tried to add some "photorealistic" textures for more impressive image of this aircraft. I removed wing's and rudder's crosses from "Decals.ini" because they were integrated in my skin. Eugene

A tachanka was a horse drawn wagon or cart with a heavy machine gun mounted on the back. This made it possible to deploy machine guns quickly, especially on the wide, rapidly changing, Eastern Front. It was used by Russian cavalry in WWI and by Bolshevik, White Russian, Ukrainian, and Polish cavalry in the Russian Civil Wars. Germany used a similar vehicle on the Eastern Front during WWI. My tachanka is a troika (three horse carriage) with a Vickers machine gun facing the rear. It functions in First Eagles as a Truck; drop it into your Ground Objects folder and First Eagles will assign it to some of your Armed Reconnaissance missions. The machine gun is set for AA and will fire at enemy planes that come within its field of fire. The download includes three LODs and a destroyed version. My thanks to Gepard for suggesting this interesting vehicle. Installation Instructions For both FE1 and FE2 Unzip the file and open my "GroundObject" folder. Copy the folder named "Tachanka" to your FirstEagles/Objects/GroundObject folder. Then copy the file named "TachankaDestroyed.bmp" into your GroundObject folder. Note that the "TachankaDestroyed.bmp" file should not be inside any other folder.

In mid 70's some structural cracks were found on the RAAF Mirage III fleet, altough a crash program was devised to fix the problem, the Australian goverment decided to buy a stopgap solution, purchasing 26 Mirage F.1 directly from France, the planes were really liked by its pilot and soldiered with the RAAF until year 2000 with some modernization programs in the meantime, surviving the Mirage III for a long shot and also flying along the F/A-18A that was choosen to replace the Mirages. Why the odd number you will ask, the first 24 planes including 2 two seaters were designated for squadron use, and two single seaters were keep by the Aircraft Reasearch and Development Unit in order to devise some specific solutions tailored specifically to thew RAAF, including modified ECM pods, flare launchers and some speficic engine changes. The ARDU F.1's were some of the last to be retired of operational use when they tested some self defense suits that were then installed on the RAAF Hornets. Of course during their ARDU service the two F.1's used the infamous Fanta Can scheme that made the planes a welcome sight for plane spotters and plastic modellers around the world. Oustanding skin work by my good friend ValAstur!
