This date in history exactly 70 years ago...On the night of July 16, 1952, Lt Guy Bordelon (aka Lucky Pierre) of VC-3, while flying this F4U-5N Corsair, BuNo 124453, scored his 5th kill to become the Navy's only ace, the wars only piston engine ace and the only night fighter ace of the Korean War. Both my father and my Uncle Bill served on board the U.S.S. Princeton (CV-37) , the ship Lt Bordelon was assigned.

well, what this guy said as i pointed out, i have been working a project that is mostly Guard and Reserve units in the 1990s. so since the middle of May i have seen alot of pictures of grimy, decade old at time of photo, F-16s. even the ones fresh out the paint shop for its new unit look a little worn. by comparison, that jet is very clean. I had figured it was popping straight to the UK for the airshow before heading to Kuwait.

Perhaps indicates how much it has (not) been used? Operational Typhoons - RAF, Luftwaffe, AMI etc - all typically have a grimy stain above the outlet over the port wing root.

that looks really really clean! not even a joke here, i've spent the last month and a half looking at F-16s, almost all at at the 8 plus year mark. but that bird looks like i could serve up dinner on it....

I assume you mean TOD objects: In the TODEditor you can save a selected object with right mouse button -> Save Object as *.obj or *.3ds files (saving as *.lod file doesn't work (yet)). Afterwards you can load the object with File->Object Manager...->Load Object and place it on a (new) TOD. But note: the texture coordinates (texture mapping) of the object were not changed. That means the texture of the object must be located on the new texture (atlas) at the same position as on the original texture (atlas). Alternatively the texture mapping of the object (*.obj or *.3ds file) can be changed/adapted with a 3D modeler program, i.e. blender or 3D Max.

I'm finally getting round after real life delaying things for too long at taking a proper look at these Tornados. First off I'm coming from the persepctive of someone who has worked on the real thing as I was an aircraft armourer for nearly thirty years and have work on all marks of UK Tornado and the associated armament equipment and ejection seats. These models are quite simply gorgeous, everything looks just right. In the cockpit I almost feel I could look up and feel the lump of the MDC if I ran my hand over it, looking out at the 1500ltr drop tanks I can see where the air has eroded the paint down through the yellow primer to the bare metal and the Sky Shadow ECM and BOZ chaff pods are right where they should be. The transition up from idle to full reheat is sublime. I shall try to actually get into learning this aircraft properly but I am sure it will not disappoint.

The Mystère IV was an evolutionary development of the Mystère II aircraft. Although bearing an external resemblance to the earlier aircraft, the Mystère IV was in fact a new design with aerodynamic improvements for supersonic flight. The prototype first flew on 28 September 1952, and the aircraft entered service in April 1953. The first 50 Mystere IVA production aircraft were powered by British Rolls-Royce Tay turbojets, while the remainder had the French-built Hispano-Suiza Verdon 350 version of that engine. This plane was "the star" of War of the Stripes over Suez in 1956 France was the main operator of the Mystère IV and at the peak usage operated 6 squadrons. Most of the aircraft were purchased under a United States Offshore Procurement contract and many were returned to US custody after they were retired. In April 1953 the United States government and the United States Air Force placed an order for 223 aircraft to be operated by the French. The new Mystère IVs were used in the 1956 Suez Crisis and continued in use into the 1980s The Mystère IV became Israel's first swept-wing fighter when an order for Mystère IIs was changed to 24 Mystère IVs in 1955, which were delivered from April to June 1956, equipping 101 Squadron. A further 36 were delivered in August 1956, with a final aircraft, equipped for reconnaissance duties, delivered in September 1956. On 29 October 1956, when Israel attacked Egypt in the opening move of what became known as the Suez Crisis, invading the Sinai Peninsula, the Mystères of 101 Squadron were deployed on both air-to-air and ground attack mission. A second squadron, 109 Squadron was equipped with the Mystère IV in December 1956, while 101 Squadron passed its Mystères to 116 Squadron in November 1961. Israel planned to replace the Mystère IV with the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, but 109 and 116 Squadron still operated the French fighter on the outbreak of the Six-Day War. The Mystère was finally retired from Israeli service on 18 March 1971. India procured 104 of aircraft in 1957 and used them extensively in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. The phasing out of the aircraft started soon after the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, though it saw further action in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it was completely phased out of the Indian Air Force by 1973. The Dassault M.D.450 Ouragan (French: Hurricane) is a French fighter-bomber developed and produced by Dassault Aviation. Found the problem. Game needs "Sounds" folder, with an "s". The folder in this download is "Sound", missing the "s".
