have you added the CV to the terrain's _Types.ini?????
In this case I'm using SF1 default Desert terrain.
I've reviewed both articles in the KB "Intermediate Modding" regarding Adding Cvs and I don't see any referance to "desert_types.ini".
What goes in the *_Types.ini?
and can we update the KB to reflect?

No.
But the Nimitz CV 68, worked in 1959. 1959 A-4b taking off with F-18s on the Deck standing by.
I'll locate and annotate Desert_Types.ini with the CVs-11 and 14 and see what happens.

Is there a way to fix the bug where I'm not able to buy more than one of any particular aircraft?
the bug also randomly loses Aircraft and adds Aircraft, usually by factors of 1.
By "fixing" the campaign so that I fly two or three sorties a day, we run out of AC rapidly.
but there's pleny of money, where I could buy 4-6 new airplanes, but once I buy one, it's no longer available.

It appears to me that setting MissionRate= to less than one equals 1.
that is to say, you can't fly more than one sortie per day. IS THIS CORRECT?

Thats really too bad. MP with fellow SF/WOx buds is where it is at. It is a BLAST. All required is same/identical installs for the older series. Not fully exploiting /engineering MP for Thirdwire-2 products misses the boat on an opportunity to REALLY expand the community ($$ for TK & Crew) and increase its longevity. I assume based on what I have read there is NO WAY to add MP to the "2" series. That said - I have no doubt this community would produce MP packs that people could DL so that if they wanted to play a bud (or anyone of our community who wanted to MP) or elsewhere with same MP pack - it would be a breeze.
Well, this will probably get me banned, but Misty FAC, I agree with you 100%, If I was a coder I'd do it myself. Based on conversations I've had with several serious programers, the only reason the developer doesn't do decent multi-player for the SFX/WOX simulations is that he either doesn't know how, and is unwilling to figure it out (Which I doubt) or is busy with other more lucritive activities, or simply too lazy.
Personally I think a Hosted Semi-Persistant "Terrain" with Targets, AI Squadrons roaming around, and players on both sides would put this series into the Top Rung, triple sales, and the lack of this kind of MP is what is slowly killing it. A frustrating shame.

I've noticed this happens with squadrons that begin later when the campaign schedule set in the first part of the campaign1_data.ini is agressive.

The War happens in a hurry, and if the unit begins a week or two later, the baddies take ground, but the squads still start at the designated field.

SFP1:
Howdy. Looks like I've gotten some squadrons that more closly represent US Flight capable forces in 1959.
I've set 436 TFS to upgrade from the F-100 to the F-104A per thier squadron history.
I've left the other AF Squadrons alone, so far...
Added VF-154 Black Knights the first to be operational with the F-8C.
Other changes include a second SOW (Merc) squadron in F-86F-40s.
The First SOW is starts out in FJ-3Ms.
In testing, I've discovered a couple of issuses.
One with the Navy Squadron VF-33 "Astronauts" flying the F11F1 Tiger.
This is a great fighter as long as you have some team players and keep it FAST.
Unfortunatly, the AI just can't seem to do that...although, I'm thinking, because I've noticed, this little bitch will depart controlled flight (spin) if you give it a good YANK on the stick at any speed, I'm sure the AI is at a lose since I lost 9 of 12 planes to unrecovered spins fighting in Mig15sBIS.
Grumble. Is there an Aircraft data setting I can modifiy?
Also, I originally went with the F9J Cougar for the 2nd SOW and a Marine Squadron. But it appears the model won't load a MK82 (500lb?) on the Right(I think) outside hardpoint.
This is annoying enough to remove the plane, but I'd like to know, if I'm doing something wrong, or is there a quick tweek?
Any advise is appreciated.

Welcome back.
I'm still running SFP1 and for some odd reason I've been obsessed with building many of the campaigns I've thought about over the years, for the past couple, three weeks or so.
I too wonder, is upgrading and getting on the DLC treadmill (Like ROF) worth it.

Heh, yeah... it comes up a bit.
I've tried and tried these methods with SFP1 Oct 08 patch.
I hit fly, the plane explodes on the water where the CV should be , and the wingie say's "2 is up".
It looks like we're in the correct location, just no CV.
I haven't tried CVA-63 because the campaign is set in 1957 and the Kitty Hawk didn't launch until 1961, and that's noted in the data.ini.
I did up these other CV Base types to Medium instead of Small.
Any help? I'm stumped, again.

I was hoping Day/Month/Year would work.
All of the original Campaign1_Data.ini upgrades simply denote a year.
As for the A1s and A4s showing up I think I've figured it out.
A TU-4 needs a LARGE Airfield to take off from, I had them assigned all over the place.
So, I went through all of the Aircraft and made sure they could take off from the designated field, AND that the fields were note overloaded.
Per one of Wrench's notes:
Runway 3 (the dirt one) = 1
Runway 2 (small medium, semi-paved) = 1
Runway 1,5,6 (standard mediums) = 3
Runway 4 (the large, 2crossing runways) = 6
In [Terrain]_Targets.ini there is an entry for each airfield, "AirfieldDataFile=desert_airfield1"
The number at the end denotes the default size and capability of the field. I did notice there's an entry where you can increase or decrease the number squadrons allowed, just below AirfieldDataFile=desert_airfield1.ini.
Everything is working great.
We're being Overrun with Groups of TU-4s with 3 or 4 sets of radar guided machineguns and Mig-15s in groups of 12 or more. It's wild.
That's a FJ-3M btw, not an F-86.

This is related to my Burning Sand downgrade attempt, with Mig-15bis, Tu4s, Fj-3M and B-26s being used before upgrades occur in the early '60-'61.
I first noticed only seeing the Soviet Mig19 Squadron, and a few Mig-17s, no Mig-15s and no Parani Strike missions to counter.
When Strikes started, They were using A1 SkyRaiders! (with clipped wings, graphics error!) Double checked my Years Spread it's set to 1915-2010, and made sure all aircraft are in my objects/Aircraft.
Removed both the A1 and Ad4 (earlier varient). I thought for sure this would bring hordes of Tu-4. Nope. A-4bs started rolling in.
Still no Mig-15s for CAP or Sweep, only Mig19s.

Hey, inspired by the alleged attempt to create a future Burning Sands that is only the two arab countries. I set about having the original campaign start with some lesser aircraft Mig15, Fj-3m, Tu4, B-26 with the standard aircraft being premium.
I haven't tested whether this will work, but right off the bat, I threw in two more merc SOC squadrons. They show up, the AC assigned in the Camp.ini and CampData.ini are incorrect.
I gave the 2nd SOC the A4b and the Third SOC the FJ-3M, they got the F100 and the A1H!? Also assigned us to the Roayl Good Guy Nation Squad.
Any thoughts let me know, thx.
I got this working by placing 2ndSOW directly under 1stSOW in all related files, and addressed this in another thread.

For SFP1 I would say yes, or it depends.
I wanted to add a Merc Squadron for BS:1988, I tacked it to the end of the Campaign_Data.ini file fix the number accordingly but the squad wouldn't show.
I removed the entries below 1stSOW and added new info 2ndSOW and it works perfectly (added to squadron list as well).
Oh, and set the UNIT ID number accordingly in campaign.ini

I think I've got this working from the Dhiram Side. 1988.
1st Royal Dhiram Fighter Squadron is working.
F-16As, accidentally got Block 10, which I found out didn't hit production until '89, Oh well, I'll fix that later.
The Rest of the Dhiram Air force gets A-4e's, F4E's, & F5E's.
The Soviet Democratic Republic of Paran, realizing they won't be getting much more support from the U.S.S.R. anytime soon (remember Afghanistan, anyone?) has decided to go Offensive in a last ditch effort.
Their driving Mig29As (2 Squadrons) Several Squadrons of Mig21MFs and several more Mig-23MFs. they also have I think Six (6) Squadrons of Tu-22's.
Many of the add-on’s are from Mirage Factory (WP2009, F-16A_ADF, some IDF Desert skin, Column 5 contributors), BIG SALUTE to ALL, Fella's...Wow.How do you do it?

I’ve had success adding squadrons for the nation of Dhiram but I can’t seem to get MercNation add a squadron.
I’d like to have one dedicated Merc A2A and a second Multi-Purpose Squadron. Is this not possible following the standard procedures?
(i.e. the same process editing the three or four ini files)
Is there something prohibiting two (or more) Merc Squads?
And! Think WAY BACK, What were your top 3 Tunes in 1988?
(FYI - The Top 100 is fairly pathetic, and I graduated in '87)
