  2. TIALD 400

GEC Marconi (now Selex-Galileo) TIALD is a second-generation laser designator pod, which initially entered service when it was still in the development stage in the Gulf War in 1991. The success of precision-guided weapons during the War showed there was a greater emphasis on the need to employ such weapons, which led to a requirement for more TIALD pods and for them to be used on a number of different aircraft platforms. The current 400-Series pod is flown on Tornado, Harrier and Jaguar ground-attack aircraft.

This TIALD designator pod is for generic use. With the Harrier GR7 I suggest you to use the one provided in the airplane pack, which has a dedicated pylon.
To install copy the two files in your Objects/Weapons folder and add the following lines to your WEAPONDATA.ini, changing XXX to the first available number in your sequence.
Remember to open and save the file with the weapon editor to make the changes effective

  3. Harrier GR7

The Harrier GR7 is a license-built American-designed AV-8B Harrier II fitted with RAF-specific navigation and defensive systems as well as other changes including additional underwing pylons for Sidewinder missiles. The improved design of the GR7 allows the aircraft to carry twice the load of a GR3 over the same distance or the same load twice the distance. First flight of the Harrier GR7 was in 1989, and deliveries to RAF squadrons began in 1990. A total of 96 aircraft were ordered, including 62 interim GR5s which were later modified to GR7 standard.

    Detailed "readme" file included.

The TIALD pod included in this pack is meant to be used only with this plane.

Just as a reminder, maximum VERTICAL take-off and landIng weight is 18,950 lbs.
If you try to take off vertically with a full load of weapons and fuel, the plane will simply not get airborne and, if you try to land, you'll fall like a brick.
Best vertical landings are performed with a 25% fuel load or less, just experiment to find the right compromise.

  9. F-104G Photoshop Template

This is the Photoshop template I used to create my F-104G skins. I left untouched most of the layers so you will be able to adjust the weathering to your taste quickly.
Included in the files are the base layers for both standard NATO camouflage and natural metal finish.

I've spent several hours creating these files so, if you're going to use them in a public release, just give me some credit for them

These files are for the stock ThirdWire F-104G only.

  11. F-104G Italian Air Force 6° Stormo

    6° Stormo A. Fusco, 154° Gruppo - 1970s
This skin depicts the tipical italian starfighter paint scheme used in the 70s, in NATO tactical camouflage with large national markings and big white numbers.
The Squadron was disbanded after the armistice in 1943 and reformed in 1952 as a fighter-bombers squadron, the insignia is the famous Red Devil and it's named after Alfredo Fusco, ace and Medaglia d'Oro al Valore recipient, shot down during WWII over Albania.

In 1965 154° Gruppo was awarded the "NATO flying safety" award, totaling 5000 hrs without any accident. Quite remarkable, since they were flying the dreaded Zipper!

This skin is for the original Third Wire F-104G model only. Installation instruction in the readme.txt included.

On 21 December 1990 3° Stormo received the order to deploy six planes, in recce configuration, to the forward turkish base of Erhac as part of the NATO coalition, during the 1st Gulf War.
