  3. U-2E 4028th SRS - Vietnam

A skin depicting the three U-2E aircraft deployed to Vietnam in early 1964 --

    56-6680,56-6703, & 56-6707.

The U-2E differed from the Basic A model by modifying it for inflight refueling.

3 aircraft were converted, and 5 J75 powered U-2C models were converted to U-2Fs

    by the same modification.

These U-2Es were with the 4028th Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron of the

    4080th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing.

The 4028th SRS flew high-altitude reconnaissance missions, photographing SAM sites

    near Hanoi and Haiphong harbor.

On February 11th 1966, the 4080th SRW was redesignated the 100th SRW and moved

to Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. The SRS detachment at Bien Hoa AB, South Vietnam,

    was redesignated the 349th SRS.

Credit goes to the guest who developed the U-2A.

  4. Very nice too,is that right that there are no hard points for the loadout under the wings to attatch to,or have I missed something crucial in the installation, only the bombs don't seem to be attatched to anything under the wings.Anyway small faults aside, the work is superb, beautiful skins, and makes the whole Vietnam experience that more realistic.Thank you for giving us this great package.

Yes, that's right there are no I-beam racks. Would love to see someone model them for the BUFF -- maybe even a big tail chute for landing.

  5. B-52 upgrade pack 3.0

In addition to the previous modifications, this package includes:

    - Similar upgrades made to the new, rescaled Oct. 08 patch. Revised the decal

positions, lights, bombbay arrangement, and exhaust positions so they line up.

Also added some of the same sounds and effects from the previous upgrade.

    - Added a revised placeholder cockpit for the B-52D and F using the Lex method.

I know it's far from perfect so feel free to tweak to your liking:

    - Fixed the default loadout issue with the external MER racks. They should now

    appear on all the BUFFS.

    - Revised some of the skins and added decals for the B-52G & H models.

    - Added a new flight model for the G & H based off the stock D model. It seems to

stablize the nose pitching up and down with the flight leveler on. It also gives

it that realistic nose down pitch the BUFF has. If you don't like this version,

one based on the original is also included.

    Acknowledgements and Thanks to:

    - TK for the awesome sim.

    - SEA skins by JSF Aggie

    - Eightlin for the Landing Lights

    - Cockpit based on Kesselbrut's excellent Brit bomber cockpit

    - Wpnssgt for the G/H model

    - Florian's Western pilot

    - And if I've forgotten anyone by accident please let me know so I can amend this.

  6. If you have the latest patch, it seems they rescaled the size of the B-52 to be more accurate. I imagine that may be the problem because the older model seems bigger - hence the pilot may no longer "fit" inside. I'll eventually try to adjust things so they fit with the new model -- haven't gotten around to it yet. Right now re-working a generic cockpit for the old Buff model.

  7. Illuminated Tracer - NEW tga mod.

This is a minor tweak I made to Fubar512's excellent illuminated tracer effect.

    You can download it here:

    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6876

Simply add this tga file (along with the "illuminated tracer file") to the EFFECTS

    folder.

The result should give the smoke rings a smoother, rounder appearance vs. the

    blocky appearance without it.

If you don't like it simply delete it.

  8. Remember that the B-52H model was the only one that was not a 'water-wagon'. This would be a nice mod for the KC-135 which were just as good at turning a field IFR during a MITO (Minimum Interval Take Off) as any bomber.

Does anyone else get a a more purple smoke output rather than the black soot that the water assisted takeoff produced? Is there some setting I could tweak to make it look blacker? I'm getting the squares too.

Great mod and I hope I don't sound like I am complaining, I would just love to see the place blacked out like it should be. Brings back memories of sooty skies and burning kerosene!

Sorry about that guys, looks like you were right on top of things. I must have forgotten to include my TGAs in the Effects folder. So, I'll try to post them under the downloads section now. I've done 4 different versions, so you can pick the ones you like. Or you can always use a Photoshop program to change the color, contrast, etc... to get the effect you want. Similarly, you can always tinker with the values in the emmitters if you want more or less smoke.

If you have the KC-135 you should be able to easily add this feature to it as well.

Thanks again for pointing out my oversight! :good: Cheers!

  9. B-52 & B-47 Waterinjection

    - New exhaust emmitters and a water injection feature for the B-52s and B-47.

The power settings on the engines have been adjusted to reflect the extra thrust

    gained from employing it.

    - New sounds, featuring an actual B-52 taking off with water injection.

    - New lights and "Pride of the Adirondacks" decals for B-47

    - New lights code that can be added for the B-52G.

    - B-52s spaced out on the taxiways so they're not hanging over one another.

  10. B-52D 'Big Belly' - 'Rivet Rambler' modification

This is a new version of the B-52D. It reflects the modifications made to it during Vietnam. Most notably the 'Big Belly' with provisions for up to 108 bombs - or 60,000 lbs. worth!!!

The ECM was also updated around this period. The 'Big Belly' was unique to only the -D model. Enjoy!
