Yeah, sometimes I wonder if he suspected a beta tester of ripping off his models, hence his about-face and the whole locking down of files.
Regardless of where that decision came from, things have not improved as a result.

I'm not saying it will fail, I'm just saying it's like as if the team that made the X-Wing games then went and made the Wing Commander games. Sure, it's similar, but it's not the original.

Of course, each side blames the other for the shortcomings. Nothing new there. Interesting that there are conflicting reports of whether the boilers must be replaced or if new insulation can simply be installed. Obviously a simple repair would be cheaper and faster than removal, but I guess without knowing the actual condition of the boilers some people are guessing.

Let me guess, they're all originals that were "refurbished" after sitting and rusting for over a decade? They should've put new ones in if so. I mean, you don't buy a new fighter and stick the engines from the old ones in it.

Must admit those last pics confuse me. Is that all supposed to be an F-16? I notice it has a Flanker's shadow and IRST in front of the windscreen along with a radar like the 27 or 29, not the F-15C.

Seeing as this month ends Sunday and we'd not gotten a firm date yet I was pretty sure this was going to happen.

Orbital hotels might not be that far off, was talk of using inflatable modules a few years ago, can't really remember who was planning it though. More of a financial hurdle than a technical one at this point. As for point to point flights I'll be stunned if it ever happens, the cost of going suborbital let alone orbital just isn't economically viable for civil puroses when compared with convetional airliners.

Concorde cost more, but had too many restrictions. Twice as fast in return for MORE than twice the price, tiny seats/limited passenger capacity, and limited routes to "cross Atlantic".
Build a Concorde II the size of a 787 that can cross the Pacific at M2.5 for less than 2x the cost of a regular plane ticket and it will work.

There's a reason India went the MiG-29K route, and that Russia itself is as well instead of pursuing updated Su-33s.
